October 15:Write a short poem about Autumn!
The following by Kevin Mark Pe?afiel Malone (me, yay):

Another Lively Shiver

A hundred dawns respire through
Spiraling foliage and slim flowers.
A powdery mildew takes hold,
Shadows retreat into rotting husk.
Yet the red canopy of aged oak
Meets the bracing breath of God
With another lively shiver at dusk.

Very nice poem, Kev! I had a feeling you'd enter with a great one. ;)

Oct. 16 - Post a recipe.
A sweet pumpkin porridge (tweaked to how i like it)
Ingredients - Pumpkin (1-1 1/2 lb), sweet rice (glutinous) sugar, salt, sesame seeds, a leaf to decorate with, water
How to prepare:
Sweet Rice: soak rice for 1.5 hrs and drain after that. add into food processor or blender with 1 cup of water and puree until smooth and rice is granulated.
Pumpkin: Gut and scrape off any fiber + seeds from the pumpkin. cut into chunks and boil in water until soft. Puree the cooked pumpkin chunks (using a blender, processor or by hand) until a good consistency is met (whatever you like).
cooking: Over medium heat, mix the pumpkin puree with the rice puree. stir often so that no rice settles and sticks to the bottom of the pan. cook over a gentle boil. add water as needed (to meet your consistency preference) / now add sugar to taste (brown or white). cook for a total of 15 minutes. do not overcook it as it will taste weird and have a weird smell after. i usually season with a pinch of salt.
served with: a leaf on top for fancifulness. lol or add chopped nuts. i usually add semi-cooked pumpkin bits and sweet rice flour balls (cooked) to the porridge (or clear medium tapioca pearls~).

October 16: Post a recipe (from Google is fine) that looks good!

Thank you for the kind words, Gracelia. And that recipe sounds delicious, though I am tempted to overcook it on the first try so I can experience that 'weird' smell and taste you refer to.

OHOHOH in like 3rd grade we had to make spooky foods, and i made bat wing nachos :D it's basically like:
-blue corn chips
-half a can of olives
-your favorite kind of nacho cheese
-red food coloring
-ground beef
- other toppings you want (sour cream, cilantro, tomatos etc)

basically cook the beef and rip it to shreds until it's a nice even brown, add your seasonings and whatnot that you usually would for nachos (we use a little packet we get at winco), then add it to your cheese, so the cheese goes from yellow to a dirty brown like dried blood :D
then make your nachos and add some drops of red food coloring on top of it to look like blood :D it's SUPER basic but come on, it was third grade XD

Chicken and Sauerkraut

2 lg chicken breasts (or 3 small)
1 jar of organic sauerkraut, drained and rinsed in cool water
2 peeled and diced red delicious apples
3 oz of organic sprouted Mung Beans
1 chopped onion
1/4 c of olive oil
2 c water
1tbl of sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1-2 tbl of fresh (finely chopped) or dried Basil and Parsley
1/2 tsp organic cumin
1/2 tsp organic tumeric
1/2 tsp organic chia seeds

Slowly boil the chicken until it is slightly pink on the inside. At the same time cook the Mung Beans as directed on the bag. While it is cooking put the drained and rinsed kraut in the crockpot, add the diced apples, chopped onion, olive oil, water, sugar, salt and pepper, chia seeds and herbs. 1.In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).

2.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

3.Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.

Entries looking good right now guys! Keep it up! These all look so yummy!

A little update for you guys, Truffle messaged me concerning an entry regarding a stolen picture a few days ago. While this isn't much concern on a few days, I would advise you guys to only enter your own pictures/drawings/poems/writings in future.
We are and will be backwards image searching all picture and drawing entries, and the same with the poems and writings.
Thank you for your co-operation! :)
