Hard To Catch Legendaries

So, last night, I realized I never did catch Uxie. (I got someone else to trade and trade him back to get him on m' pokedex), So I figured hey, might as well go off and get him.

I bought fourty ultra balls, thinking I might go after Azlef later. When I get to Uxie, I put him to sleep, get him down to like 2 hp, and start barracading the thing with Ultra balls.


I used 40 Ultra balls. 10 Pokeballs. 2 Heal balls (all I had with me), and I DIDNT CATCH HIM.

WTH?

Is Uxie really that hard to catch? I wasted like an hour of my time trying to get the stupid thing...

So, which legendary was hard to catch for you guys?
 
I had a tough time with Giratina, Uxie, and Mesprit. I used Master Balls on all fo them.

I got Azlef and Uxie in less than 20 combined XD

Use Dusk balls, they are better.

I used about 20 balls on Azelf, about 5 on Uxie, about 5 on Giratina, about 10 on Regigigas, 15 on Dialga, and I think thats all the legendaries I have.

Ultra balls?

And don't you have Heatran?
 
I just migrated my wobbefett over from Saphire and i had an easy time catching Cresselia and Mesprit because Wobbefett's ability Shadow Tag, cant flee

Yeah, Mean Look would work on Mesprit too, but I dont have either move..

Thats only when Wobbafett is battling though, right?

or you just use a really fast pokemon in the first spot, get too the same route it is on, do damage to it, repeat until yellow, then encounter it at night and throw dusk balls. then use the master ball on cresselia.
 
The hardest was Azelf and Regigigas. Azelf, just kept killing my team and Regigigas was caught by a Pokeball, my last one.
