I live in an area where the amusement park "Cedar Point", Kalahari, Castaway bay, etc are very popular.

Have you ever traveled here to see it? What was your favorite ride?

Ive never been to any of those. never got to visit Six Flags either. just the ones in Florida- the Disney parks, Universal, and Busch Gardens...

I've never been to an amusement park in America. In Korea I've been to Lotte World, Everland and Caribbean Bay (a waterpark next to Everland). In Singapore I've been to Universal Studios. Amusement parks are fun for the first few hours but I get motion sickness very easily so I usually have to sit out for the rides after a while. I've never wanted to go to an amusement park just for fun because I'd rather spend my money doing something else, but I guess it's fun to go once in a while.

Well we have a yarly fair with death trap rides every year. I've also travelled and been to Disneyland and California adventure Park twice, Canada's Wonderland and another park outside of Minneapolis. Oh and universal studios

Ohio is just a figment of my imagination. Like what even is Ohio? Trash. That's what.

That sounds really fun. I am more into the rides that make you wonder if you'll get off alive. Not much into the family theme parks. I even stopped going to my local ones here, but thought about it because I seen a commercial. So I made this thread.

Yeah I only went because I would get season passes from my parents every year. Now I am almost twenty and went a few times in the last six years. It's always 3 hour waits for rides and there's so many tourists that it isn't fun, only fun when kids are in school and everything is a walk on. Not to mention the horrible food and over priced beverages. I had a lady from China give me a PEPSI when I asked for Mountain dew, she gave her not understanding my English as a reason to not refund me. Its horribly ran to say the least. lol And whenever someone barfs, it doesn't get cleaned, I feel dirty whenever I leave lol.

I live in Ohio so I've been to all of the places you've listed many times. I love Kalahari and have been going there every year for the past few years to the Colossalcon anime convention as well. My favorite part about Kalahari is that giant funnel slide. The overall feel of just being there is luxurious. I have to admit I'm disappointed that they made their arcade mostly prize machines now instead of arcade games. I loved to spend time hours in there just on those machines. I haven't been to Cedar Point in awhile but my favorite ride is the Millennium Force. I'll ride it 2-3 times every visit. Top Thrill Dragster may be big, it just ends too quickly for the enjoyment to last.

hey, what part of ohio are you from? I live here as well (obviously).
I have always wanted to go to ColossalCon, last year my bf worked during it, he cleaned all the rooms, and large rentable houses there, and just didn't want to take me after. I wanted to see all the great costumes and deep creativity from people! Although my birthday falls inbetween bike week and the ColossalCon I still get to roam around and shop and still look at all the cool costumes in the mall and such! What goes on during one of those things?

I used to play the pokemon machines @ CP and give stuffed animals away to people visiting or to children who couldn't get them from losing so much. They are mostly rigged. A typical amusement park, also from knowing people who work there, the BBALL rims are smaller than the balls, LeBron went there and couldn't make many shots either (funny right?). The dragster I rode a few times then didn't pay much attention to it. I love the millennium though, it is so smooth and never hurts my back after. Have you done the challenge park? me and my boyfriend talk about trying the sling shot and others but I never got around to it.
As for Kalahari, Castaway, etc, I have been to all of these places since I am right in town. I can actually see the coasters when I look across the field in front of my house.

Ugh, there needs to be more to do here. I am literally finding myself at Walmart at 4am because there's NOTHING to do here. *says that while I am dreaming of a CP slushie and elephant ear* *

ALSO SUCKS TO BE THE PEOPLE WHO WAITED THREE HOURS IN LINE FOR THAT 17 SECOND RIDE JUST TO HAVE IT GO UP THE HILL HALF WAY AND STOP WORKING. HNSGJLOU;DHSFGILO;DHSFG

haha funny story about the witches wheel, someone lost their iPhone on it and it hit my then-friend in the eye while walking around as a kamans photographer. Millennium is the staple ride for CP though, I feel like its everyones favorite (I know its mine). If not that, the Maverick or dragster *cringe* then. where are you from?

I live in Florida. So yes i have been to amusement parks many, many times.

That's how I feel about it anymore. Its fun sometimes, but it's too crowded and too pricy. Only time worth going is during starlight on halloweekends where there will be no lines at night.

Cedar point? No I've never been to the US. Amusement parks though, yes way too many times.

I've been to both disney parks, and that's about it. My favorite rides are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Expedition Everest/Matterhorn, and Space Mountain.

Suburbs of The D. My work gives us discounted tickets.

I'm not a fan of the drop as much as twists so I'm not keen on the Dragster. I still haven't gone on it.

I wouldn't recommend going on the dragster. When you start off, you still smack the back of your head hard on the back of the seat, even if its back when it begins. It is also a 13-20 second ride, TOPS. So waiting in line for it really rips you a new one... I have rode it about five times maybe since it came out which isn't much at all since I used to go every summer every year for almost 8 years straight...

some people who wait never get to ride it because it always breaks down due to not enough power to shoot it all the way up. and if its windy they don't run it either so it doesn't tip I guess??? that's what my friend said

millennium, maverick, and valvaren are great. I tried that one this halloweekends

Funnily enough I had a really awful nightmare last night set in a kind of amusement park. Really bad.

Anyway, yes. Does Blackpool count? Shady women dressed as sexy Snow Whites in dark alleys? At night, it's a horror show. I have very fond memories of it as a child, though. The pretty lights along the roads was beautiful.

I've only been to Six Flags(Discovery Kingdom), Great America, Disney Land and California Adventure. I also went to Universal but I seriously only got to go on 4 things so I mean, I don't think it really counted, we went for a few hours and I was devastated cause we only saw the front part of the park. =[ I love amusement parks, I love roller-coasters, it's honestly the best stress reliever in the entire world, feel weightless and scream your lungs out and nobody bats an eye. The high of the rides and the screaming is really awesome. It sucks though now because I have to go on the "special seats" cause my melons are so huge TMI I know but it's embarrassing. The only thing I do not like about amusement parks is the wait for rides, so if it's an option and I have the money I get the little Fast Pass things because I can't stand for an hour to ride something that takes like a minute, totally not worth it.
