Has anyone else bought the game more than once?

I think I know a way around that actually!
My bf and I download all games onto his acc and we play together all the time on separate consoles. If you have 2 different profiles on each switch, as long as you arent on the EXACT same profile with both you should be able to visit the other town
Of course I cant confirm this since it's not out to try but I've had no issues with any other game like dragon quest builders and splatoon c:

However having 2 different games does make it easier so one person doesnt have to be connected to the internet to play at all since switches are labeled as main or secondary

I'm curious how this is going to work. I may hold off on opening my physical copy if digital works on both at the same time.

At one point yesterday I had three copies purchased:
-One digital already downloaded for my current switch
-One physical Target preorder because I wanted the journal
-Another digital because I impulsively bought the gamestop LE console + game bundle...ended up selling that copy to a friend xD

Years of living frugally has finally paid off but I am never buying anything again haha

I pre ordered the game on amazon, but after finding out the game data is saved onto your switch and not the game cartridge, I might end up returning my physical copy and purchasing the digital the day of launch. So I too will probably end up with 2 copies at some point (though if I do I plan on returning the physical)!

I bought a physical copy for my main switch, but I didn't think this through since I usually use my switch lite outside. So I pre installed animal crossing on my lite. I might end up just returning my preorder, but there's a chance I would get the physical copy a day or 6 hours early. For my convenience I might just end up running two islands. Does anyone know if cycling villagers still work? I don't know what else to do with the other island maybe turn that islands into a shop, but I lose the advantage of playing on one save with 2 consoles. I'll most likely end up just returning the physical copy depending on expected arrival date.

I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to actually get ahold of it at launch due to coronavirus concerns (I shipped it to where I planned on traveling that weekend, and I’m not sure if I’ll go), which has made me wonder a bit about picking up another copy. I don’t think I’ll bother, but I guess if I end up in quarantine, I could see myself buying a digital version. Chances are, though, I may just try to play ACNL + other Switch games besides ACNH and wait a few weeks (though that does sound challenging).

If I ever get a second Switch, I could see myself picking up another copy so that players from my two towns could visit each other via simultaneous play. I’m not sure if I’ll bother, though, and that scenario wouldn’t be for a while.

If I were in your scenario I would cancel the physical copy to mitigate the chances of getting corona. Then if for some off chance you get quarantined you'll at least be able to play new horizons lol XD (I applaud your idea of playing other games besides ACNH for a couple of weeks, it does sound challenging) Good luck and stay safe!
