I can't manage to find my seed and it's driving me mad!

I found out that I have shooting stars (as announced by isabelle) on November 6th.
So I took the opportunity since from what I've heard, it's easier to find your seed w/ shooting star information rather than weather.

I inserted a total of 10 times in which there were shooting stars, ranging from 7 PM until 3 AM.
(The shooting stars were frequent, so I can't document every minute a shooting star appears).

My timing is accurate, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong??

If you've managed to find your weather seed, how much information did you put in? Also, are you supposed to insert information for one day or several days?

I found it for Goose Isle. It took a lot of trial and error though. I gave up trying to use shooting star times because every time I tried to use that data the site would either give me a seed that was wrong, or tell me it couldn't find a seed.
What I ended up doing was documenting the weather for several hours a day for about a month. Then it finally gave me the correct seed. If you use weather, if you're not 100% sure on the cloud types, you should put one of the "unsure" options, or else it won't work. I mainly did "unsure no rain/snow" and "unsure rain/snow" every single time and it eventually did find my seed.

Oh my god.....a month? 😰

I don't think I have the patience, even w/ the use of time travel..

I found it for mine, and my husband found it for his. i entered a week or twos worth of data, but you really have to be precise with the shooting stars. Its better to only enter the ones you know for sure than to guess. I didn’t go down to the seconds, but definitely by the minute. If you have a rainbow, that helps too.

Without time travel, what I did was fill out meteor shower days I knew for sure by going back to my messages to friends saying I had Celeste. That may narrow it down to a couple seeds. Then on a night I had meteor showers, I wrote down all the times I saw stars, and slowly added them one by one. With that I was able to find my seed. I found that narrowing it down was a lot better than just inputting a bunch of star times, which often lead to 0 seeds found or false seeds.

I haven't bothered. I have noticed that I'm getting more shooting stars now than I was in the summer.

I went the route of getting old weather from screenshots. Putting in even just raining / not raining weather and days when Celeste was there can narrow things down. I didn't go out of my way to record the weather I just used what I already had. In the end I got a few possible weather seeds and then used those to match up the star times with my island. So if it predicted stars at 20:10:30 I watched my own stars to see if it lined up. I found this to work a little better for me because it's easier to see whether the seconds predicted by the seed matched up with what I was seeing rather than me trying to be accurate counting the seconds myself.

However after I put in that work I have now pretty much given up on using my weather seed. I kind of just like the surprise of logging in each day to see what the weather will be 🤷‍♀️ I will be using my weather seed to find a good time to post my dream address though, when I am ready to do that.

I was pretty accurate with the shooting stars (not in seconds though).

The max info I've entered was 15, and I either get nothing or wrong seeds 😩

I can't seem to find mine, I've been diligently recording info for a long time but it never find it. It's unfortunate but I've pretty much given up on finding it!

I did manage to find mine purely based off of previous screenshots of when it was raining, as this seemed to be the most obvious weather and so meant a lot less of a headache for me haha. along the way however I did find a number of wrong seeds and now I can't remember which one is the correct one, so for now I haven't bothered retrying

I recently found mine (had the wrong one before). The only thing I had to go off of was knowing the date of a heavy meteor shower. After a lot of research on the best methods for finding your seed, the easiest way seems to be having around 5 weather logs entered for each day. I like to do morning, afternoon and evening. It only took me a few days to find my correct seed doing this method, but I did have a day with a rainbow and that heavy meteor shower so I think that helped a lot.

Be very careful putting the wrong weather, like putting rain incorrectly. It's better to put the rain/unsure if there is any doubt in your mind if it's heavy or not! :)

I used some old screenshots from september and october. I knew the date for one heavy meteor shower date from this month, had 3 random shooting star pictures so I put those days down as meteor showers (not heavy or light since I wasn't sure), marked 2 days when celeste was on my island, and added the days when I had screenshots in the rain. with that I narrowed it down to 2 seeds and then waited to see which would report the right weather for the next day.

I've been having a hard time. I had tried during the Summer but gave up. I've recently been trying again and keep getting told there's no seed that matches. I went through some screenshots and found two days in September that had rainbows - one had a double rainbow. I entered those plus I've been entering the weather every day since October 15th. On the 15th & 17th I had announced meteor showers (the first 2 since the very first one) so I added those and entered stars to the minute. For the other days I just enter the weather I see while playing. Still no seeds found. I'm getting frustrated.

The problem with your approach is that there are a lot of seeds with a heavy shower on Nov. 6 and when there is a heavy shower, there are shooting stars almost every minute so you are not actually collecting much unique info to help narrow down your seed. You'll need multiple days of unique weather data to narrow it down. If there is a heavy shower, don't bother tracking individual stars as it doesn't provide much useful info beyond the fact that you had a heavy shower on a specific date. If there is a light meteor shower, then you'll want to keep track of the exact minute because that provides much more unique information. Other than that, track less common weather events like rainbows and thunderstorms. I narrowed down my weather seed with about 10 weather "events" (combination of heavy showers, light showers with times, rainbows, and thunderstorms). If you go the route of tracking common weather data like when it's sunny or cloudy, you'll need a lot more data because there are tons of seeds when it is sunny or cloudy at any given time. It's also a lot easier to mess up using common weather inputs, so I'd stick to only tracking less common weather.

I managed to get my weather seed just over 4 months ago, roughly a week after the tool came out. For me, what helped was using old data I had (through screenshots + chat messages) to enter days I had meteor showers/Celeste, and then I just tracked my weather for roughly a week to keep narrowing the seeds down until I managed to luck into a light meteor shower, which was the final thing I needed to get my seed.

I found my weather seed before they added the feature to enter in gaps with no stars. It took like an hour during a major meteor shower.

I did it for my friend's island recently and it only took me about 30 minutes on her major meteor night.

i only learned that this was possible from a youtube video a few hours ago, i had never heard of it before then. i’m thinking of trying it out but it sounds a bit difficult. it would be really cool to know what mine is, though, it would make it much easier to find cool weather like fog!

I think getting your seed from only one day may be difficult. I entered info from about 2-3 weeks (but maybe only like 10-15 entries) using screenshots.

I limited it to shooting stars, Celeste visits, and rain. I always chose the unsure about heavy/light rain or showers. One thing to keep in mind and that tripped me up a bit is that if you enter a shooting star after midnight, it counts as the day before..... so if you have a shower on the 7th, and see a shooting star at 2am, the in game clock will say Nov 8, but you have to mark it on the 7th, since the new day starts at 5am. To be safe I just didn't count any stars after 12am because it was confusing.

I managed to get my weather seed after 1 or 2 weeks of inputting data. What I did was just to enter in the hourly weather each day until it said the data was enough for the day. Definitely worth the effort imo to get the seed for the light showers data. It’s amazing that it will even tell you the minute and second the shooting stars will appear.

I thankfully took a lot of photos of Celeste whenever she came to my island so I was able to log her visits as well as some shooting stars that were visible in the picture & their time stamp to the minute. I TTed to my last recent meteor shower and logged meteor showers by the minute (maybe around 20 of them?) and some gaps in between them. That mostly did it for me and I got my seed right afterwards
