Has anyone managed to find their weather seed?

It took me two to three weeks to find mine. After the clocked chimed, I just took a quick screenshot of the sky. I would then go to the meteonook site and write it in. The only reason it found my seed so quickly was that I had two single rainbows and a double rainbow in the same month.

I honestly haven't been able to find my seed yet, I haven't had the patience to sit down and keep a record of what my weather is like so I'm nostly just flying blind (pretty similar to how I deal with weather in real life too haha)

I found my weather seed back in June or July (can't remember exactly now), after logging in about two weeks' worth of data. For each day, I recorded the state of the weather on the hour to avoid mix-ups between weather patterns between adjacent hours. This took at most five or six data points per day (fewer if there were special weather patterns, like a single or double rainbow) -- you will know that you have enough data when you have only one weather pattern identified for the day. For nights with shooting stars, I did not record specific times when I observed them and just took note of whether the meteor shower was light or heavy.

As a side note, be careful not to clear your cache (or keep a backup of your data using another tool, like Google Sheets) while you're doing this. After I had found and confirmed my weather seed, I cleared my browser cache and lost everything, including the weather seed. Thankfully, I was able to retrieve my seed, based on vague recollection of the first few digits and going through past chat messages to re-input meteor shower days. Now, I keep my weather sheet in my ACNH Google Sheets tracker, in case I ever decide to clear my cache again. XD

I gave up using star shower times, they never seemed to help. So I only used weather, and this is when I did TT. Just to get my seed. And it worked! I think it took me about a month's worth of weather to get the seed. You don't need every hour's weather, just enough in a day to get the exact weather pattern for that day - such as Fine01. Once you get a day, you move on to the next. It honestly didn't take me that long either. You'll probably be able to tell the difference between Sunny and Cloudy once you've seen both of them one after the other.

You have to be precise not just with the shooting stars, but dont’ get the cloud cover wrong. When in doubt, just make it so that it is rain or no rain. I found mine by going back into my screenshots and doing that (make sure you use one with the time at the bottom. It only took me a couple of days. It helped that I had a minor shooting star day in that first couple of days. Also, if you don‘t actually see shooting stars, note the days that Celeste is there, because there is always a shower that night, it just might be a minor one.

It took me a while! I had photos of rainbows, but ultimately that information was my downfall. Because once I dropped the rainbows from the meteonook data, I was able to find my seed. Turns out one of them should have been recorded as a double rainbow, and that was enough to make it not match.

I only recorded meteor showers as light or heavy. I didn’t try to record the times. I did have a light shower night that I was able to use to verify my seed once I had it narrowed down to a few.

As others have said, don’t try to do the cloud types. Just rain/no rain.

I can't manage to find my seed and it's driving me mad!

I found out that I have shooting stars (as announced by isabelle) on November 6th.
So I took the opportunity since from what I've heard, it's easier to find your seed w/ shooting star information rather than weather.

I inserted a total of 10 times in which there were shooting stars, ranging from 7 PM until 3 AM.
(The shooting stars were frequent, so I can't document every minute a shooting star appears).

My timing is accurate, so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong??

If you've managed to find your weather seed, how much information did you put in? Also, are you supposed to insert information for one day or several days?

I found mine. I tried the screenshot thing (I had plenty with rainy weather, one with a rainbow, another two/three that showed I had a meteor shower), but it didn't really work. So I put in just basic weather information for 10 days, + 1 day I had a light shower. Do note: I put in enough 'hourly' weather to narrow each day down to just 1 possible weather pattern for that day (you can find it circled in red in the image):

Usually, I needed only 4 or 3 hours of data to get a pattern, if I could get them consequitive. On other days, I needed more. I didn't have any special cloud types back then (this was in June).

I entered all the light and heavy meteor showers I had since the start of the day, one heavy rainstorm and one double rainbow and that was enough to give me one seed. I wanted to check whether it is correct or not and travelled to a date where I was supposed to have a normal rainbow and I had one. But tonight I was said to have some shooting stars/a light meteor shower and at the given times I didn't have any stars.. So probably it's not my seed. How should I go about this now?

I used screenshots of rainbows and shooting stars. At first I was messing up bc I kept forgetting the day starts at 5am instead of 12am, so I was recording the wrong days. Eventually I figured it out once I fixed the correct dates lol

I got my seed from all the pictures I took. It also helped that I managed to have pics of rainbows/double rainbows.

The best time to take weather data is right at the beginning of the hour. Weather transitions around half past the hour so it'll be a little harder to identify.

I took data for 3 different hours -- morning, afternoon and evening, rather than 3 consecutive hours. I also made sure to take the same hours constantly.

I suggest keeping an eye around 12nn and 1pm when it rains because that's when rainbows usually occur. Not always, but in my case, it usually happens at that time. Rainbows are a rare occurence so being able to input data for it help a lot in finding the seed.

Meteor showers help but it's hard to keep track of the exact seconds the stars fall. Also, even with Celeste around, you really can't tell what time the meteors occur.

I got the wrong seed a few times too. Every time I tried using screenshots and days I had Celeste/meteor showers it was the wrong seed. I deleted all the data I entered and started over again and only used the weather from the current day. Then as I said earlier, it took about a month of entering weather every day until I finally got the correct seed.

I didn’t even know this was a thing. Now I really want to try to find it because I need more star fragments!

I found mine by focusing almost solely on rain and meteor showers and keeping my data as vague as possible. For example, if a day was rainy I would put this and the hour, but not how heavy the rain was. If I saw Celeste I would select that option, but otherwise I never got more specific. I'm sure rainbow-related data also helps immensely but I had none.

I didn't have enough of just that data, though, but I would only add anything else if I was CERTAIN I was correct- as in really good pictures of the sky and a good understanding of the cloud type in the photo. All this seemed to reduce the amount of errors I would make. From there it was just having the patience to narrow it down from the potential seeds.

I FINALLY FOUND MY WEATHER SEED OMG.

I'm sorry I haven't replied to most of you but I appreciate your responses 🥰

What I did was, I went back to November 6th (announced meteor shower day).
And I documented an entire hour, starting from 7 PM to 8 PM, exactly when the stars fell (not by seconds though).
Then I put the gaps where I had no stars by pressing "make from times"

And voila, I got only 1 result and it's the ONE 🥳

I got mine... What I did is enter weather data until there was a clear pattern for the day and went through old screenshots for rainbows. I find the stars are a touch TOO dependent on 100% accuracy, but for a rainbow all you do is put the day and the hour it appeared. With that, I was able to find my seed in about 1 week!

Hints: Input the weather for the hour at the TOP of each hour as that will be most accurate. So if a rainbow appears at 15:50, it's a 16:00 rainbow, not a 15:00 rainbow.

I dont understand, what is a weather seed? so curious, its the first time i hear this and i dont understand what you all are saying haha 🤣

There is a way to find out what weather you are having for the day/week/month/year and when things like meteor showers will happen! But you need to collect your weather data and put it into a website in order to find the weather pattern of your island.

Interesting! I really miss the weather box in ACNL where you could see the weather, ahh 🤧 loved that thing. How do we get this so called seed ? and if I can ask which is the website we can input our info and get predictions to our weather forecast.

Hopefully Nintendo will implement something like a weather TV forecast, or announcements by Isabelle or just one of those machines like in ACNL to buy with Nook mile tickets

I sent you a message! And it would be nice to have a prediction without all the work, but I guess some people will say it takes away the fun or more realistic weather? I'm not sure!
