This game has just become really unenjoyable for me. I've had this game since June 9th and I've restarted I don't even know how many times. Mainly because of boredom and never being able to get Zucker and the rest of my dream villagers. I've seen my dreamies (mostly Zucker) go on adoption but I am always a minute late. I've seen him and other dreamies being sold for millions of bells. And I don't cheat my way into bells (I don't know how to either. But I do know it's really unrealistic for someone to have 40 million bells unless they cheat or play 24/7). I've been playing AC since the GC days when it first came out, but now it just adds frustration. I am probably just going to start Harvest Moon again and play that.

Anyways, have any of you felt like this? I know this game is supposed to be fun and relaxing, but it really adds me frustration because of the villagers and just not having enough to do.

Don't stress! I feel like the online social element has created a lot of the desires that are around like dream villagers. I remember back on the GC version I really didn't care about what villagers were in my town.

Not really. If you're lucky and happen to get a villager in the campsite/from starting that is highly wanted you can easily sell them for that much or even more. You don't need to play all day everyday.

Why not take a break?

I've taken breaks as long as two weeks from the game and I find it helps. Each time I take a break I come back to it with newfound enthusiasm.

So true. Back in GC, WW, and even City Folk I never cared to reset my town for dream villagers.
But now...that's all I do. It seems I can't even enjoy this game without getting them unfortunately.
I guess I should just try being content with who I start out with and unfollow all those ACadopt blogs lolz.

AC is only stressful if you let it. I know I sound like a fine one to talk, since I get stressed over..anything, but worrying about it doesn't change anything. All it will do is make you feel ill, and ruin your enjoyment all the more.

Oh yeah, and I'm agreeing with Team here, as I was the same when I got the GC version (preowned).

True. But how did those people buying the popular villagers get so much bells?
Honestly, majority used those cheat tricks.

Nah, tbh, I don't feel that way. Even if I weren't able to get my dream villagers I'd play with what I've got.

Dream villagers can stress you out. /:
I've been cycling for Fauna so often that I just had to take a break from the game altogether. It's okay to take a break every once in awhile and remember there is a lot more to the game than just finding dream villagers. c:

If you base the entire game around getting a dream villager, I think you're doing it wrong tbh.

What?
Many use the method of filling up the island box with beetles or spend millions on the stalk market. Not a lot of people even dupe here, only a little.

Seems like you just try too hard for 'perfection'. To me, what's wonderful about this game is the little imperfections my town has. (Besides grass deterioration. Nintendo is stupid for putting that in the game after City Folk.)

I have never wanted or tried to get everything I wanted as soon as I start playing. And getting villagers isn't even part of my thought process. I get what I'm given and I wait to see if anyone I want actually moves into town. I don't want to pay for villagers so I never will. I see expecting to get certain things quickly will suck all enjoyment out of the game once you get them. Because then you have nothing to look forward to.

Just relax. Don't think and plan so hard. Just roll with what the game gives you.

You can make 30 mil selling a full locker of turnips for 500+. Make around 400k per trip beetle hunting on the island...3 trips you'll have 2 mil. Rare region-excluive dlc can go for a lot too. Furniture sets that can be earned are rare (such as bug set, fish set, flower set, etc) and go for a lot on the forums. Not everyone is a cheater lol, its easy to make bells once you know how.

This.

I'm sure that if I listed the villagers I have in my town, none of them would be on the "popular" lists, but I don't care. I played that way back in the GC version, too. It's part of what makes the game fun, to me.

Okay, a small handful of people might have done something silly, but I highly doubt that they're the majority! I think that you're just frustrated because you've had such a hard time getting your own dream villagers, but it's no reason to lump everyone who has Bells to spare into the category of cheaters, yeah? You can make a million Bells every two days if you go to the island at night for one trip. Most people who have that much cash probably play the Stalk Market. It's really easy to make a killing selling turnips.

And I would venture a guess and say that most of us probably have felt this way at one point or another! I completely sympathize with you when it comes to looking for dream villagers, so please don't think that I don't understand! I'm positive that you'll find Zucker someday! It may take a little time, but it's not impossible. While you're doing that, step back, take a deep breath, and try to have fun with the villagers the game throws at you.

Maybe it would be best to take a break from Animal Crossing and come back later with a fresh mind. I'm not saying you have to give it up completely, unless that's what you want! But if you want to find enjoyment in the game again, it doesn't hurt to try! And hopefully you at least vented out a little in this post and that helped. ^^

I seem to be really lucky in that I don't have villagers that I consider dream villagers. Since I like them all equally, I just wait for the opportune time to get whomever is coming. I could use a cranky right now, but don't have any open spots for them.

I agree with Sonatina... it's wrong to assume we got the bells from cheating. xD; I never duped and I made quite a lot of money with turnips~ I go catch beetles sometimes but not often.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
And sorry for assuming that majority cheat.
I have gone to the Island, but the most I have made is around 50-75,000 bells. (If I am lucky with the sharks and beetles)
As for the turnips, I've never tried that. So I probably will now x).

What I do is find somebody who's turnip prices are at 400+, then time travel back to sunday and buy as many as my locker can hold lol, then go sell them. You make a ton!

And for the island, the best time to go is between 8-10 pm and ONLY catch the beetles on the trees (no fruit beetles or wharf roaches, they aren't worth a lot) ... fill up your whole box and go back and sell them to retail (works even better if theres a beetle premium that day) I usually make about 425k, but I've been getting lazy and not going every night like I used to.
