Have you completed your Furniture & Recipe catalogs? Discussion!

I thought it would be nice to have a discussion on the general process of building your catalogs and discuss where we are in the process- or discuss if you're already done!

Everything just seems so tedious and slow to get, so I just (without shame): trade, buy from others, and do giveaways/free visits. I'm about 60% , but I only get what I want for my theme, ideas, and builds- lol. Not sure if I'll ever completely finish them.

Not yet! I've been more preoccupied with collecting gyroids...but I do intend to make as many as I can. I especially enjoy the glowing moss and seasonal recipes!

Oh, I forgot about the gyroids! How could I?! Lol. How far are you along with the gyroids? Are you finding it's taking you longer than expected?

I'm not really sure, but I felt proud when I got the Brewstoid bc that mean's I'm a loyal Roost customer lol. It's probably taking me longer bc this is my first AC game and I'm not really familiar with gyroids.... They are fun though

I just collect the items that I want rather than collecting everything just for the sake of completing the catalog. If I am looking for a specific item, I’ll just make a post and look for that item. I don’t want to stress myself completing the catalog for the sake of completion.

I am obsessed with collecting every item and DIY in NH, as soon as they come out I try to get them all asap. I did the same thing in NL, I just like being able to order anything form the catalog or craft things at will and I ran a shop here for a while so it's nice to have the largest possible stock to offer.
My catalog is 100% complete (to the best of my knowledge)

Before the introduction of Cyrus, I thought for sure I wasn't going to complete the catalog even though I do like trading and enjoyed catalog islands. Now, with him as an addition, I'm attempting it. I like having all the colors on hand especially if I can apply a custom design. It helps me out what looks better.

I don't have a clear percentage in mind, I know I'm missing a lot of 1.0 furniture variations and definitely clothes. 2.0 is probably closer to completion and I have all the gyroids.

I have all the DIY recipes, KK songs, gyroids and rugs.

As for the furniture catalog, I cataloged all the pre 2.0 items including varations. As for the new ones, I cataloged it all, but only at least 1 variation of each. I don't really mind since we have Cyrus.

I am VERY thankful and grateful to all the people here at TBT that made it possible for me to complete my furniture catalog and DIY recipes.

I am still missing several of the new 2.0 Saharah wallpapers and flooring, and I gave up collecting them.
I don't have all the posters and villager photos.
I still don't have the Golden Axe because I am too lazy to grind.
I don't care about cataloging all the clothes.

I haven't finished my catalog just yet, but I'm getting close. At this point, I have all reorderable furniture, most DIYs (missing just 5), most reorderable clothing (missing 2 sets of bottoms, 1 sock and a ton of bags), all reorderable wallpaper/flooring, most reorderable rugs (missing just 1), all KK songs, all gyroids, all art, all fossils, all tools. I'm mostly just missing seasonals/unorderables at this point (furniture, clothing, wallpaper/flooring). I didn't intend to get everything in the catalog when I first started playing NH, but the cataloging events definitely helped change my mind and made me pursue trying to 100% it, lol.

I don't think I will, because given how long its taken me to get certain items because of bad RNG it may never be completed. I guess thats one of the reasons Animal Crossing is so special in a way that it tempts you to get stuff slowly. I have a love/hate relationship with that to be honest.

My reorderable catalog is complete. My crafted item catalog isn't and I still have a long way to go. I want every item in the game at least once. Since Cyrus came along, I don't care too much to seek out variations anymore, so just getting one of everything is enough for me.

I'm at the stage where I rarely see anything new for sale in either store. Instead, I mostly attend giveaways and, if there's no rush, catalog any items I see but only taking the ones I actually want.

I just wish there was an easier way to find out the colours of the items without actually picking it up. At the very least, I hope future games will let me see which one it is when it's in my inventory!

I don’t know if I ever will finish my furniture catalog. I just look for things when I get inspired to build. I am actively trying again to complete my DIY catalog. Right now I need 108 DIY’s.

nope... While I'm a completion-ist at heart, the fact that I haven't even touched my Switch for the past year tells me realistically this will not happen for a very very long time to come. I wished I had set it as a goal back when I first started playing because now I just lack the motivations to attempt again. Same goes for my museum exhibits and all other in-game catalogs (clothes, furnitures)...

I've never completed the catalogues for any of the other games. This one is not my favorite of the series, so I can't see me pushing through it to completion either. Sounds way too much like a chore. If it happens over time, it happens. I play games to have fun. Not to make a job out of it.

The pain of cataloging has been affecting me more recently, since I've been designing a lot in Harvey's and I'm missing so many colour variations that I'm normally spoiled with on HHP. I know I can just customise furniture with Cyrus to complete my colour variations, but I'm lazy lol. There's also some wallpapers/floorings that I'm missing because I just never crafted them. I don't actively try to complete my catalogs so I'm always missing something. I'm very slowly completing my 2.0 DIY lists but I also have no idea what the progress on that is (I'm also fairly certain I'm missing some older seasonal DIYs because I went on hiatus during that season).
