There are many different play styles when it comes to animal crossing, and i was wondering where everyone was in terms of planning their island-- if they are at all!

Whether it's as simple as figuring out a colour palette for the island, just a few ideas about certain aspects you'd like to incorporate, or a completely linked set of ideas-- feel free to share!!

Personally, all I really know right now is that I want it to be natural with with a colour palette of pink and yellow. So really not much figure out yet haha~

i have! i’m not uh exactly sure what my theme would be classified as but it’s going to be a very bright and vibrant island full of colours - not exactly rainbow themed but certainly not dull, either lol

I want mine to be pretty natural, the only things I have planned out are a hot springs area and some waterfalls/lots of trees surrounding my museum.

Other than that, I've noticed a lot of people have residential areas where they keep all of their villagers, but I know that I want mine to be spread out all over the place to give my island a more rural vibe. I also like a color scheme of white/blue/purple/green (i LOVE the new green mums, I'm definitely gonna be using those a lot)

oooo yeah same! i've never liked having residential areas too much. i like maps that feel more like an adventure~

that colour palette also sounds super pretty!!

I think I've settled on a very tropical island bazaar with shops, lots of activities, a neighborhood, all that! I want to make it very colorful and pleasant to be in. It will take some time but I'm excited to work on it! c:

im going for a rustic tropical/natural themed island that developed, but not over the top. lots of flowers, trees, aesthetic weeds as well as natural looking furniture items dotted around

My theme is just a small country village. Lots of trees and flowers. Nothing that interesting. I've never liked having too many items or patterns on the ground, it looks cluttered imo.

No theme. I’m just trying to enjoy the game as much as I can so I don’t wanna restrict myself in terms of design and villagers. I want them all. Lol.

The vibe I want for Hesperides is sort of the vibe I've gotten from all the beachy places I've stayed at, the Outer Banks and the Gulf mostly--a lot of centralized development, a really bustling center, but that beautiful, nature-rich environment underneath and interwoven, as well as swathes of undeveloped, lovely space just to be out and about in it all. Does that make sense to anyone else? Lol.

ooo I feel that. I don't think I'm going to use too too many items either~

I am not 100% clear on the logistics, but I would like to make a large lake with islands that have residences on it.

Not sure if I have enough space, though.

To be honest, I don't have a solid theme for New Horizons and doubt that one will be forthcoming. All of my New Leaf towns have their own theme and villagers who fit those themes, but with New Horizons I decided that I was going to (try to) acquire dream villagers who for one reason or another wouldn't fit into my New Leaf towns, whether it be because of the 10 villager limit or the villager in question not fitting the theme of the towns. As such, there's nothing that really ties them together cohesively. I gave the island a "creepy" name, but that's about it. Right now, the theme is just "island." Creative, I know. :p

If it should change, I'll update.

My island has less of a theme and more of a palette, I suppose. I'm going for pink, yellow, and blue colors for my home, villagers, flowers, etc. :)

White lilies everywhere, some white hyacinths too. Fresh beach town vibe with some hidden mystical spots around the island, waterfall area, stuff like that. Will take a long time to have it come to full fruition, but still.

Dinosaur/prehistory themed! Gonna put fossils outside everywhere, and my final list of villagers includes all alligators, as well as Goose and Tucker maybe.

I do have a theme in mind, but I'm still working on it. At the moment, I switching over houses and buildings as well as planning out of what to do with all the space to see how good this theme will work.

I want my island to be a place where the town meets nature. So although I do have a "residential area" more like, half the island, it's very spaced out in small clusters. Maybe I'll switch things around when I have terraforming available, but for now I want it to be both relaxed and foresty without feeling too underdeveloped.

One of my real life inspirations for Sunfall is the island of Enoshima off of Tokyo in Japan. (literally one of my most favorite places on earth). If you've ever been there or seen photos of it... that's the feeling I'm hoping to eventually achieve!
