Yeah. Years ago when my family was still living across the country and I still lived with them, parents and sister went away for a while and I opted to stay behind and look after the pets. Parents only okayed it because I was over 18, working part time, and knew I was responsible enough, plus didn't have to pay me as much as a boarding facility. Didn't have a car at that point, and one day after work I needed to pick up some groceries and couldn't afford to wait another day. Didn't really start raining until I was almost done with the shopping, had to walk home with full grocery bags and an inadequate umbrella, stopping every so often where there was some minor shelter to rest my arms from carrying. Pants and shoes were soaked by the time I made it home. What should've been a half hour walk took an additional hour on top of it
Yes! Whenever possible. We had a nice one, a good solid hour of strikes, about a year or so ago, and me and my bf sat outside under a blanket watching it. And I had previously when I was much younger been right in one and our whole neighborhood stood outside watching it. Each flash was long enough to look around and see everything as if it was a bright sunny day, when it was really like 10 at night.
Yep, I always went outside in the garden to be under the strong rain and really "feeling" the thunderstorm..
but my parents always screamed at me to come in.. x)
yea, i really like to go outside and feel all of the pelting rain and wind. its really refreshing for me so long as im not stuck in traffic or anything, lol.
i go to this summer camp every year and theres this HUGE outdoor stage/auditorium with a big old dome over it. All of the campers were there because evening performances are a part of the camp and then a giant thunderstorm hit! the orchestra kept playing, and when they were done, we were all kept inside the auditorium while the rain poured outside. they sang camp songs to keep people from causing chaos. one of my cabinmates was scared of thunder and started crying but i was having the time of my life lol
I've had many moments when I had to go out into a thunderstorm. All have been dangerous and terrifying! Worse one I've had was a tornado siren going off while being out in a storm! Worst feeling ever!
We used to have a big porch at my parent's house where my dad and I would watch storms. Watching for tornados was always my favorite, but we never stayed outside after the sirens
We get really bad tropical storms here all the time so at least twice a year I’m caught in the middle of one on the way home from work. :/ but yeah if I’m at home chilling and I see it’s raining, I don’t even think of leaving the house until it stops lol even for food.
Often! I like to go out in storms, or the rain in general, especially when I'm in the city. The worst "storm" I've been caught in though was a blizzard. I think I was 16 at the time, so I did some pretty stupid stuff and ended up getting frostbite.
Maybe 4 or 5 days ago, I was out on a walk with someone I know late at night and it was thundering so much, to the point where it was concerning me. There were 3 separate storms over my city all at once and it was absolute mania to be out in that, I had a blanket with me so we were kind of hidden from the weather where we were sat, but it was still bad. (Even the dog hated it)
The only time I've ever been caught outside in a thunderstorm was in a car while on holiday. I was brought up not to step one foot outside of a building while one is occurring simply because my mother was and still is petrified of them. When my brother and I were very young, she would close all of the curtains to break out the lightening and we would sit and huddle together, all drawing our best formation of the clouds. She taught us that during a time like this, the clouds become angry and therefore we would illustrate angry faces on the clouds to represent this. Now looking back, I can see why she did this. She made my brother and I feel comfortable during a storm and she even told me once that she didn't want us to be scared of them like she is. I find them very fascinating, especially during the night, sat at the window with the flicker of light crashing down on us.
We rarely get them here, but when we do, they are worth the watch.
