I was talking to my friends about food and brought up how I was eating gumbo. Started asking if they ever tried it and they HAVEN'T. Like literally everyone I asked hasn't. So I decided to make a poll: have you ever had gumbo and did you like it? Me I love gumbo and I eat it all the time.

I don’t know if I’m making it up in my mind or not but I THINK I’ve tried it. It’s okay but there’s some ingredients that I don’t really like

i’ve never had gumbo before! to be honest i don’t really know what it is either besides it being kinda like a stew in some ways?? if it has seafood i probs wouldn’t like it. (it usually has shrimp, right?)
i didn’t grow up with sea food so a lot of fish are new to my palette(´-`)

You can also have it with chicken and sausage! My mom just makes it with chicken lol
And yea it's a lot like a stew

During thanksgiving you can use the leftover turkey carcass to make a broth and have turkey gumbo! Don’t forget to add Andouille sausage too that’s my favorite part :D

I had gumbo at a restaurant called Pappadeux.I'm not sure how authentic it was but it was really good.It had pieces of andouille sausage and shrimp in it and there was some gumbo filé available as a condiment.I've also had crawfish étouffée at the same place but the gumbo was better. They used to have a fried shrimp and oyster po' boy that was amazing but unfortunately is no longer available.

I've seen people on the Food Network make it, but I've never tried it myself. Is it some kind of stew from New Orleans?

Yes, I tried it one time a long long time ago, someone in 5th grade brought gumbo for the whole class since we were representing states in the US, and she picked Louisiana. I don’t really remember distinctly the taste of it, but I remember me not hating it or anything lol

I've never had it, but I wouldn't mind trying it as long as it didn't have any seafood other than shrimp in it. I don't like most seafood.

Unfortunately, it's not really served anywhere around where I live so I've never had an opportunity to taste it.

We made a big ol pot a couple months ago when it was still winter :)
We used chicken, sausage, and the holy trinity, pretty simple bc we're lazy! xD
