That there have been like no advertisements or anything at all for Metroid Prime 3? Even worse... look at the official Metroid site
I doubt thats the reason. I'm honestly not surprised they haven't done a good job of it, I mean, they don't even have online.DSFAN121 said:Um, good luck with that, Bul.
There's a very logical reason why they're not. The Wii currently has a reputation as a family system. They don't want to bring much attention to more mature games like Metroid because they don't want lawsuits against them like with Grand Theft Auto. I mean, it's obvious people will say in court "He learned to shoot by playing Metroid Prime 3!"
that is exactly the reason why they should be advertising it. a family system is a system that has games that appeal to all members of the family. Wii sports appeals to parents and non-gamers, metroid prime, SSBM and excite truck appeal to teen gamers, etc.DSFAN121 said:Um, good luck with that, Bul.

Uhm, what? So let me get this straight. You're saying they decided to make a more mature game, but they are INTENTIONALLY having it bomb at the market because they don't want to tarnish their reputation as a family-friendly company. Yeah, that definitely seems right... So they invested tons of manpower and money into a project that knew they would not advertise?DSFAN121 said:Um, good luck with that, Bul.

I meant family-friendly, like not a lot of M-rated gorey games.ac1983fan said:that is exactly the reason why they should be advertising it. a family system is a system that has games that appeal to all members of the family. Besides, nobody is going to get the game unless they're Metroid fanboys, and since all of them are already well aware of the fact that the game's coming out, it would be pointless to advertise anyway. >_>Bulerias said:Uhm, what? Yeah, I don't get it either.
That's not true. That's DEFINITELY not true. It's Nintendo's philosophy to open up the doors and allow EVERYONE to play these games, including games like Metroid Prime 3, which, fyi, is not rated M, nor is it gorey or excessively bloody.DSFAN121 said:Besides, nobody is going to get the game unless they're Metroid fanboys, and since all of them are already well aware of the fact that the game's coming out, it would be pointless to advertise anyway. >_>Bulerias said:Uhm, what? I think Metroid has tons of potential to appeal to the mass market.
This is all quite confusing, but I think you did kidna say that.DSFAN121 said:Never said it was, I was just using an example. >.>Bulerias said:That's not true. That's DEFINITELY not true. And Gremp, your sig scares me.
Uh, no. I have some chex (yes, the cereal) shooter game where you shoot laser things at green globs of goo.TheGremp said:Metroid prime has got to be one of the least gory shooters I've ever seen besides Duck Hunt lol
I beat that game . It was on my old comp (old old that isnt hooked up anymore) and idk where the disc was, but that was a fun.....game . There were guns but the one weapon I remember is the electric spoon that spun around and killed blobs. Anyways, I was at Gamestop with my friend today and when you walked in there was a big MP3 thing (I was surprised) then on the shelf for Coming Soon games MP3 was there and it said Reserver Today.ZELDAFREAK104 said:Uh, no. No, there's less gory games out there that aren't as bad as MP3... I have Atlantis: Trial by Fire. When you shoot people and they die, they're like teleported or something.TheGremp said:Metroid prime has got to be one of the least gory shooters I've ever seen besides Duck Hunt lol
