My competitive monotype Dragon team is finally complete and ready for Pokemon Sword!

A special thanks to greenfrog100, Miharu, Seona, and DubiousDelphine for helping me breed and raise this team, learning about IV breeding and EV training, and acquiring a 6IV Eng Ditto! Thanks so much to everyone that helped.

I’ll keep this thread open for now for people to post what they think about the team. Remember, if you have any suggestions for changes that need to be made, whether it’s a different move, item, or Pokemon, just post them here!

(As an aside, I raised Appletun with Gluttony and a Sitrus berry instead of with Thick Fat and Leftovers because I can’t have two Pokemon with Leftovers on the team, and Hydreigon’s role is already setup to use that item. )

You think about adding in Garchomp once it becomes available? I can see it quite easily taking Dragapult's place as a speedy offensive sweeper.

Yeah, Garchomp would be a nice addition. I could replace Dragapult with it or one of my slower team members. Not quite sure yet.

Woahh I have to admit, this team looks really good! Gives me inspiration to assemble a ghost type team myself!
I feel like with an addition of Goodra, this team would kick *** for sure (kinda biased cause Goodra is one of my faves )

Yeah, Goodra could be a nice addition. Not sure where I would place Goodra though.

Also, I tested this team out in ranked battles last night and in six battles I earned five wins and only one loss! I can tell it’s definitely kicking butt already.

Reviving this from the dead because with the addition of the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra updates, there’s all new dragon types to choose from!

This team seems like the best I could come up with, but if anyone thinks I should swap out a Pokemon for a different one, let me know! Also, now that my team is pretty much complete, I need help coming up with nicknames for my dragons! So if you have a suggestion for a nickname for any of my six party members, just post it here! Thank you!

(Also, I plan on getting an ability patch to give Garchomp the Rough Skin HA, so don’t worry about that. Lol)

Aaw, I love Appletun! I have a shiny one named honeycrisp. I’m not exactly into competitive, so I’m not too sure of it’s viability, though.

For noivern, I named the one I used for my Ultra Moon campaign Krakatoa, after the source of the loudest sound ever heard in history! Maybe something like that would be an interesting nickname.

I love Appletun as well! I know its Leech Seed + Recover game is pretty good, and I have made it Gmax now thanks to the Isle of Armor, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough to be on my team. I know it would help with countering Pokemon such as Primarina and others.

Omg, I love that nickname! I’m nicknaming my Noivern Krakatoa right now. Thank you for the suggestion! Now I just have the five others to nickname.
