this used to be a 'should i open a shop' thread but i decided to change it to a critique/help me with my art thread!!
here's the art that i want critique on. i really need help on line weight and shading, maybe even anatomy if i decide to try out mayors. be as harsh as you need to, i really do want to improve.
if it means anything, i'm using fire alpaca right now.

Taking photos of your art is fine, you can just up the contrast/brightness levels :v

also try to make the lines cleaner (it's pretty noticeable in the mayor pic)

not sure how much people would pay though.

yeah the mayor was just a sketch so it wasn't done. i want to open a shop but it would be pointless if people didn't want to buy any art o.o hopefully more people give their opinions.

Well its up to you really but i don't think you should just yet. At least, not until you can get better scans/pictures of your art. They seem dark. But personally, i wouldn't buy it ;u;

Ooh~ monochrome. Sure, I'd buy some of your art. Though, I don't really know what I'd do with it... xD

Just a tip: Try going for a darker outline on the last picture, like you did with the seahorse. It makes parts more distinguishable and flushes out the portions that are being overlapped. You can try that with the little details and see how you like it as well. c:

i just remembered that i DO have access to a tablet. so i'm going to try out digital art. it'd be great if anyone could suggest things to try so i can practice.

You can use photoshop/ gimp to line it. You don't need to do a tablet

It doesn't matter if you do digital or traditional, just the quality of artwork is what's important.

How do you feel about mechs and robots? It doesn't have to be something complex like Gundams. You can just draw out the first thing that comes to your head and add in whatever you feel would give it a little oomph. Like this little doodle I did for example:

i've never really thought about it, but i really don't think i'd be too good at drawing them. it's just not my thing. yours looks great tho!!
