So my boyfriend's childhood dream is to fly a plane. So my idea for his birthday (this weekend) is to buy him a flying lesson. It'll cost around $250 for one person. My question is, should I just buy it for him so he can go alone? Or should I buy it for the both of us so we can experience it together? I don't need the actual flying lesson, so I would just be there for the ride along. I don't know which would be the better experience for him. Another bit of info is that it's quite a drive away from where we live (over 1 hour). It might be a bit sad for him to drive back and forth just by himself, and if I went along with him on the car ride but not the flight, I would be stuck in the car the whole time since it's kind of in the middle of no where. But it would be quite expensive to buy 2 tickets. I can afford it though, so it's not that it's actually an issue. But I do like to save money if I can. But his experience is the priority. It might be something he'd want to do alone since it was his dream for basically his whole life or something best enjoyed with company. Just asking for any advice on this subject :)

You know him best, but I think it'd be fun for you both to go together. I think that's a great idea for a birthday present, too.

Like LadyDestani said, you would know him better than us random strangers off the internet so you'd have a better idea of what would make him happy? Mm think of it like, if you take the lesson with him you'll be able to talk about the stuff that happened that you both saw/experienced and if he takes the lesson alone he can tell you all about it! Whichever option you choose I'm sure he'll be happy! This is such a thoughtful present awww

I'm no expert on gifts or dates but, I think you both should go. I think something like this will be quite the experience for both of you.

That's so romantic! I think going together would be best. That way if he's nervous or anything, you'll be with him!

Thanks guys! I bought the tickets for both of us. I'm super excited to give him this gift and I think I'd regret not being able to see how happy he is while flying the plane ^_^

By tickets for the two of you! You want to make his birthday experience in the best possible way that he’ll remember for a long time. I’m sure the end result will be worth it.
