Help with Amiibo?

Hi all

I'm having issue trying to scan my amiibo cards into the game, I've unlocked the town hall and have the campsite built, but the option to scan amiibo isn't appearing in the Nook machine list.

Can anyone help me figure this out? Is there a certain point you unlock it at that I haven't reached yet?

I have my first camping villager in today so I'm wondering if that's why? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

That is indeed why! After you’ve adopted your first camper, and the campsite is empty again, you’ll have the option to call an Amiibo in

You need to move in the first camper before that option shows up! (yes they have to move in, otherwise they'll be in your campsite forever)

Does the amiibo appear the same day you scan it in or do you need to wait a day?
