Help with FINAL character name decision please.

I'm just trying to finalize all my decisions before the big day and could use some more opinions.

I had decided on the name Winnie for my character, but I was planning on having certain villagers use nicknames for it. Like Jocks and Uchis would call me Wynn, and Snooty villagers would call me Winona. Winona is meant to be my characters "full name".

Now I'm wondering if I should make my official name Winona, and then just have certain villagers use nicknames. Peppy villagers would use Winnie, Jock/Uchi would use Wynn.

I am 99.9% positive my town name is Lumeria (pronounced lou-merry-uh). It's a name I sort of made up and it means "Light of the sea"

So what looks and sounds better on the map and menus?

A little extra info:

My real name is Whitney, but I have never really felt like it matched my personality. I see Whitney as a popular outgoing type and I'm more of a shy bookworm. If I were to be able to rename myself IRL, Winona would be very high on my list of possibilities, with Wynn/Winnie being nicknames I would enjoy.

I know there is a Winona here on the forum already and I am NOT trying to steal her name. I just genuinely like all three versions of that name.

I also like your nicknames idea and I feel like it would work best with Winnie (I like the fact that the Snooty characters call you by ur full name haha). But if you do decide Winona your nickname idea would also work with that name too c:

These two opposing opinions pretty much sum up my entire dilemma, lol!

Winnie is very cutsey and therefore pretty well suited to a game like AC.

BUT, I think Winona is more classy and grown up sounding, especially when combined with Lumeria.

I envision my house more on the grown up side, with natural furniture, fireplace, bookshelves, tons of plants, etc. Which I think is better suited to Winona.

Winnie seems more like she'd have heavily themed furniture sets like mermaid, princess, and other cute sets.

It’s definitely more casual and cute, whereas Winona is formal and elegant—do you feel more comfortable with either of those presentations? If so, I’d pick that and use the other only from specific Villagers.

As far as I can tell, you won’t be referred to as X from X in-game anyway*, so that combination specially would only matter if you wanted to use it outside of the game.

* neither the passport nor the friend list show the names in that format

Also, I like how Winnie could easily be a nickname for your rl name—it’s a nice balance between something related but still different. If you wanted, you could even have Villagers you dislike call you Whitney and then run them off the Island for disrespecting you!

Ignoring all the name meanings and connotations, Winnie is the name you want to go by so you should go with this one. It makes sense that certain people would call you by your actual name while others remove a syllable from your given name. Many people go by a nickname, if Winnie is your main name then stick with it.

Aesthetically speaking I'd really like Willow with your island name and I think it would be a fun idea to have different W names throughout your games assuming you used your old name with an earlier game. But I think it's important to start going by your then given name and not your legal name if you ever change it.
