help with user/islander transferring!

I... don't think that's right. I have two islands on two different Switches and am able to go online on both. I also only have one copy of the game. The only thing I can't do is play both simultaneously.
...Though I also don't know if I'd be able to transfer one resident from one game to start a new one on the second Switch.
That is true and from the sounds of it you have a digital copy, if you were to have a 2nd one you would be able to visit your other island via local online. To answer your question you do actually to have a 2nd copy of the game just to do the Resident Transfer. The same goes for island transfer.

I figured for resident transfer, but you only need one game copy to do island transfer if you use the island transfer tool. I used it when I got a new Switch and was able to transfer my main island to my new main Switch with no issue whatsoever. But, of course, that's a moot point in this case.

And I'm considering getting a second game copy, but from what I understand, I STILL won't be able to visit each island unless I buy two copies of the DLC as well.

And if you're thinking about visiting other people's islands online the 2nd account must have an online membership to gain access.

I think they were trying to say "You can still use yours" I guess what they meant to say was you can still your account on your switch and I think they meant to say that at the same time still having a 2nd copy of the game and a 2nd switch to play at the same time just with different accounts. I hope that makes more sense.

it doesn't. not to be rude but is english not your first language? have you considered rereading things you write before you post them? you say i can "still [use] my account on [my] switch" but then say different accounts? i don't want to make a new account on my new switch here, i'd prefer to keep my old one.

idk, maybe i'm the only one here who's confused.

I use the same membership and it works fine. I've been able to have people visit my island to drop off items, and I've been able to visit other people's island to adopt villagers.

You should not direct that at me, you should respond to person who made that comment.

c... cool i guess?

i mean, i'm still lost here but honestly i'm not even sure if i want to bother getting ac:nh after this. i wanted to play the game, make my own island and everything but if nintendo is content having their multiple islands system be a broken, overprices mess than i don't know if i even want to support them. heck, i don't even think i want a switch at this point, like i'm genuinely wondering if i want to get one just to be possibly told i need to shell out another 60$ because a second switch apparently isn't enough, and maybe even a new account on top of that?

sorry for the rant, but this whole thing is turning out to be frustrating. :/

Well okay then, but if that's not what you want to do then thats your decision, I respect that.
