When you get into a story/show/game and get to know the characters, who typically appeals to you? The protagonist or the antagonist? Example: Mario vs Bowser/ Batman vs Joker, etc.

As you can see by my avatar and some of my past avatars I usually like villains better. I know they are supposed to be 'bad' and 'eeeeevil!' but there wouldn't be a story without them right? Plus they usually have a really cool power or odd character development to put up some sort of challenge to the main character.

Also, share some of your heroes and villains if you'd like!

I tend to like anti-heroes the most! My absolute favorite villain-hero is the Superior Spider-Man. For any who don't know, it was a comic that ran from 2013-14 in which Doc Ock takes over Spider-Man's body and begins dealing out his own brand of immoral justice as the Superior-Spiderman!

Other favorite dark/anti-heroes are: Piccolo and Goku Black from dragon ball and Ghost Rider!

Oh! Didn't think of anti-heroes! :p

Captain Deadpool ftw!

I think heroes are really cool, but villains tend to be the more developed characters. There's usually a deeper backstory on why they're evil. It's a lot more interesting to see the mind of a villain than a hero, since most of us (I hope) don't share the sinister motives villains have- so it's intriguing to see

I pretty much root for the heroes.

some noteable exceptions, however-- I always root for:

Coyote over Roadrunner;

Sylvester over Tweety Bird (thufferin thuccotath dammit i hate that yellow bird);

Jerry over Tom;

and Nikki Minaj.

Depends on who is more interesting and who you can relate to more. I find it much easier to relate to someone like the Joker than Batman, but I wouldn't be able to like a villain who was merciless and pure evil. You've gotta have personality and your own little quirks.

I'm kind of somewhere in-between. I like to side with the villains but there are also those characters I like who are somewhere in the middle. Kind of like the Robin in Injustice 2 or Axel from Kingdom Hearts. There are also plenty of heroes I find really interesting as well. A couple recent examples include Noctis from FFXV and the Persona 5 protagonist.

it depends on the characters tbh
i dont rly love good vs bad stories bc they follow the same pattern and i dont think it is interesting But yeee.,..

Antiheroes. But when it comes to horror books/movies/TV shows, typically I love the villain more; however, I usually root for the hero.

Villains.

I enjoy writing for villains more, as I find them to be more interesting and developed characters. That's very important (obviously) for my writing and I usually find more inspiration for them.

My favourite villain is Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, he's classy what can I say?

My favourite villainess is Poison Ivy, she's beautiful, what can I say? (I would say Harley Quinn but she's more of an antihero)

I love DC villains more but I like Marvel heroes more.

I tend to like a villian who is written well. Often, the villain can be underdeveloped or mostly absent until the end. The Heroes tend to be way more developed and relatable. Some good villains are Jack Spicer from Xiaolin Showdown and Tohru Adachi from Persona 4. Light Yagami is an excellent example of a good villain protagonist

heroes. but i agree with everyone else saying villains are more developed so that does make them more interesting but its just for me at least to root for the good

In between. As others are saying, anti-heros (like deadpool). I used to be all for the bad guys when I was a kid, but now I don't excuse their behavior

The villains, usually they have a much more interesting backstory and just seem more... human. I feel like the heroes are never fleshed out enough or something... I don't know I might just be a bad guy myself, I recently realized my clothing choices make me seem like I'd be the easily identified villain of any story. XD
