If you'd like to suggest things to change (aside from game sizes), feel free to post em. I'm looking at remaking the General thread especially since the staff doesn't really play anymore.

I'll think of stuff later - but one thing that comes to mind are the requirements for hosting main/mini mafia. Almost no one here, if anyone at all, has hosted a major mafia or a mini one. So maybe it could be a sort of a WOTC if a host is good enough to host main/mini series games?

Actually a decent bit of veteran players have hosted major games. I recommend that new hosts have a co-host that is NOT new to hosting just to help out and if it runs smoothly, then they can take a shot on hosting solo. The main issue is that a lot of new hosts spam their thread and talk to players when the game is in motion- big no no. There's still a lot of us floating around here from years ago that have significant hosting and playing experience. No wotc needed, just co-hosts imo

Shes a great person, but I rarely see her around anymore People like justice and Dolby have been doing a great job at hosting, and are our main hosts for games right now, so it's not like they're "new". They should be able to host main mafia imo - and I'd think a lot of people would agree.

Do you just not understand that there aren't enough players for a "main" mafia? My GoT game was as close to as many players in a main game that there has been for a long time. I just finished hosting that and I'm not new either. The issue isn't that we're not hosting a main mafia. The issue is that even if you write a game that takes the players that a main mafia needs, we just don't have the players anymore. Most games get less than 20 players now, which main game that does not make.

The old system doesn't work anymore, which is why the "unofficial" ones such as GoT or Forest Fire mafia are now the new main games.

Hm, what we could do is screw the rules currently put down for "Main" and "Mini", and just call our current normal mafia games main mafias, and the other more experimental games as mini?

Honestly I'd rather just toss the Mini/Main mafia stuff out the window since it doesn't have a place in current meta, though I do like the experimental idea.
