I kind of wish you could see your followers, views, or visits to your showroom rooms in HHP. I know it's not everyone's thing, but it feels kinda weird having this social network and not even seeing if its been checked out once. Just upload to the void.

Now, I just wanna say I design purely for fun and not just for likes. I genuinely enjoy going fully elaborate and pushing themes to their absolute limit.
I just wish my obsession to spend 2+ hours on a room sometimes got a tiiiiiny bit of validation 🤣
Especially since aside from my VTuber page, I don't really post to social media much in general.

Maybe a toggle feature of some kind?

For those curious my Profile is:

I haven’t really thought about this. It would be cool to see names, but names can sometimes be inappropriate. I see that being the reason we no longer have Tortimer Island — you could type in troll-like messages. There’s always a few people who ruin things for everyone.

The only thing I'd like to see are the number of visits, and those should be viewable by the owner only.

Likes, followers, etc. get too close to the social media world which I'm trying to avoid when playing a relaxing game like this. I don't even like seeing how many followers I have on social media (well, back when I used them) so even that would make me a bit 'meh', especially since people would still hop on everywhere to brag about them. But visits? No one said that island home you made was nice, just that you enticed people to visit, so it's less brag-worthy (does that make sense?).

I agree. Nothing wrong with some affirmation for your hard work. Even with just a thumbs up button. This is a pretty reasonable feature to expect especially when they were able to implement it for dream addresses with the visitor count but I guess Nintendo couldn’t be bothered.

Number of visits would be cool but I don't find the need to see likes/dislikes etc either. I'm sure that's just not Nintendo's thing though, which is why it didn't happen.

i wouldnt want to see who specifically visited but seeing the number of views might be fun. although i havent played much of the dlc anywas. to be honest i would probably not even check if this feature existed, but it would be nice for those whod like to know how much attention their designs are getting. although maybe that could be sad if nobody viewed them.. you can always share them on tbt in the hhp design thread!

The only thing I remember that has the amount of visits is from Nook Link app on your phone when you updated your dream address and you can see how many people visited your island in the dream.

I'm glad you can't see those numbers :p that would make it to much social media and competitive imo. I love that you can browse random designs without have to pick and choose the highest rated or viewed designs. That is just not what ac is about

I think a count for visitors or "likes" like others already have mentioned would be cool but anything beyond that becomes too much social media-y for me. I play AC to escape.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everyone who said that just visits would be cool. I'd hate for it to be competitive since Animal Crossing in general is just about being chill :)

I agree! It would be nice to get some sort feedback just to see if anyone passed by.

In HHD you could anonymously rate other's designs in different categories. That may be a bit much and can lead to hurt feelings, but if they just allowed you to send a sticker or short impersonal message like "good job!" or "very original!", I think it'd be fun and safe. I like to browse and feel bad there's no way for me to say I passed by and liked it.

it doesn’t sound silly at all! i’d personally obsess a little too much over likes/dislikes to the point that i don’t want them, nor do i really want messages (not opposed to them! but if they were to ever be added in, i hope the ability to disable them would be as well), but being able to see how many views your showrooms have gotten would be really cool!

Number of visits could be interesting but that is the most I would want to know and I would want that stat only visible to the owner. I don’t need to know if only 10 of 60 people liked my build any more than I need to know if 60 of 60 liked it. I have enough games that end up competitive I don’t need to add a way to make this one competitive too.

Agreed, like how the dreams work. All that would happen if likes and followers were shown is accounts that already have a big following on social media will get a huge following on there and then people would be depressed that theirs isn't getting looked at, even if it's just as good.

We don't always need to be doing things for an audience and it's healthier for us mentally not to be doing that. People can share their work to social media if they wish and they can get their likes that way. But forcing it onto people feels a bit icky, though tracking the amount of visitors would be fine.

Yeah that's how I feel about it too. I genuinely have fun designing homes, but I want to share them with others just because I can and not for an audience. I think the visitor count like dreams would've been enough.
