I see a ton of similarities between Halo 3's multiplayer capabilities and SSBB's.

A map editor? Online play? File sharing (screenshots and maps)? Killer app?

I think he's saying that, judging by Halo 3's features and how addictive it was, that SSBB could probably be just as addictive and fun.

Nothing, really, just that Nintendo has taken at least a few tips as far as adding multiplayer and user-created content.

Now maybe an online service that doesn't suck and take unnecessary amounts of time?

I see your point, though the online feature won't be all as hype as it looks. The wi-fi feature's speed depends on how far your opponent is.

What the big deal when you say 'online play' as a similarity? Many games have online play.

QFT. Halo 3 isn't the first one with many of those features by a long shot.

I'm not talking about connection speed, I'm talking about the ridiculous amount of time it takes to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi. XBox Live's starts the second you start playing. Also, Friend Codes are cumbersome and inconvenient. They are different for every game, and its very difficult to set up games without talking on the computer. No messaging system, no game invites, no cross-game invites, no friends list, no leaderboards, no TrueSkill matchmaking, no convenience, bad experience, especially when compared to XBox Live.

They both have it, but that wasn't a great example. Halo 3 is a definite first for a lot of online content for consoles. Do you really know that much about it? Probably not.

What game before it had a file share that was also integrated on a website, and allowed you to send and receive recommendations? Also, what game can record gameplay videos, take screenshots, save maps, and game types, AND allow this all to be shared while on the console? None.

I have to agree with you there about everything you stated. But what I thought you meant in you're post is that because of Halo's great multiplayer success, smash bros has followed and learned some tricks from it to make its multiplayer as good with some things added that were also in the Halo franchise, which makes sense and is a smart move. Now if only Nintendo would get some great ideas about there online adding some of the things you stated in this post <_<

Quake 3. I think I'm done.

and you can do half that with just about any game with Xfire xD

Edit: I just read that you said on console, but there shouldn't be different expectations. This generation of consoles are basically computers in disguise. Web access, News, Weather, and all kinds of crap that they keep coming out with.
