Horned Hercules don't spawn

So this is the last bug I need right now, yet it seems it doesn't matter how long I search for each day, main island or nook mile island, it will not spawn.
Is there a hidden requirement attached to it for it to spawn each day, like how the coelncanth needs thirty other fish caught first to start appearing? Please someone help, its driving me insane how fast I caught every other beetle yet this is the one that's rare (yet I can find multiple scarab beetle, golden and giant stags per night which are supposed to be rarer than it)

You'll need to have caught 100 bugs from what I've read. It also comes out from 5 pm to 8 am. You've probably already gotten bamboo island, but in case you didn't, that's probably the best place to go. If you do see it, holding A and walking up to it may very well scare it off, so you have to approach it as if it's a praying mantis that gets spooked if it sees you approaching. In other words, hold A and inch yourself towards it, don't go walking towards it while holding A.

Does that have to be 100 in a day, or just 100 in general? Because I don't really like catching bugs and am just patiently waiting for it to show itself on my island at one point. Actually I don't think they would make us catch 100 in one day, but at the same time I don't know

Thanks. I didn't realize I had that many posts. Just 100 bugs in general. Having to catch 100 within a day would be pretty lame, but thankfully that's not the case.

I figured! Thank you. Hope it shows up soon, it's definitely a rare one. But so is the giraffe stag and that one showed up yesterday so I'm optimistic

I've seen them minutes into the game, and have caught not a single bug beforehand.

Edit. Oh, 100 bugs total?
I don't think there are any spawn conditions apart from the month and time, and that's all there should be.

I may be wrong. John Wick said there isn't any requirements. It's what I read, though.

There is no spawn conditions for it other than the time of day it is found. I found it really fast on the first day they spawned and probably played 10 to 15 mins total when I found it. I just sucked at catching them until I figured it out for awhile lol.

Just give it some time and plan out your hunt. I added more palm trees and reduced my cedar/hardwood trees. Everyone is bound to be having a hard time for 1 bug or fish. Napoleon fish I'm still hunting. Took me 3 nights hunting the golden stag and just lucked out finding 1.

Just a tip for those having problems with judging the distance, and it's old but it works!

Dig a hole (or put shell lamps) in front of each palm tree.
If you see a beetle, just go slowly and you can't miss, because the hole is the exact distance you need to be to catch it.

Ugh, yes, I'm having the exact same problem! I've caught every other beetle except the horned hercules, and I'm not even sure that I've ever seen any spawn in the many hours I've spend beetle-hunting on mystery islands. I'll probably try again tonight, so hopefully I'll get lucky!
