House/Room Ideas

With 8 playable characters we have larger options with room designs plus making backyards. What are your current ideas for rooms you would like to make or themes for houses. What would you like to do with the surrounding areas of those houses as well?

I think I'll just start of creating a house that feels homely, to explore all the furniture options. If I want to make a second home along the way I think I'll go for a themed home like a caf? or greenery. I don't think I'll actually make 8 characters for myself.

i'll probably only make one house for myself. i still haven't decided what kind of theme i would like to go with for each room. it looks like we're getting a ton of new furniture so i'd like to see what new horizons has to offer before i start.

i know i want at least one room with lots of pretty plants and other foliage all over the place. many neutral and natural colors like brown, grey, black, white, and beige.

I'm thinking of going for a very homely feel for my house kitchen, bedroom etc, I am wanting to do like a lil cul-de-sac set up with the islanders houses too. I'll likely put games and things like the ring toss in a garden..the possibilities are endless xD

I think I'll go for a more "realistic" look with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room. I already found a lot of cute designs on Pinterest and can't wait to implement them, haha!

my character’s house will be themed around things that i like/want irl, my second character’s house will be themed around the seasons and nature and my third character’s house will be themed around relaxing getaways :3

I want a bakery! I love making restaurant type rooms because the food items in AC are so cute!!!!

Hmmm. I know I will be setting up a second profile and character sometime in the future for co-op play. It might be fun to make a spa or a bakery. I know in New Leaf I had grand plans to make an art studio and a campground with a player tent as well as the tent PWP that never really happened.

I know I'll probably not be setting up any additional profiles until much later in the game, so I will have lots of time to think about it!

I'm probably going to make an office, a couple guest rooms, a crafty room, a media room... the ideas are endless and overwhelming. I feel like I've taken on a second job...but the best second job.

Toy shop and collectibles shop. Also...in NL I had a full collection of dinosaur miniatures that Cyrus made on my museum second floor. It would be fun to do that again in a separate house if its possible in NH.

My main house is going to be a cute little homey place with lots of houseplants, yellow, and pinks

Then I'm going to have 2 side characters that tell a little story. One is a magical girl and the other is a witch c: so the magical girl house will have multiple rooms for multiple girls and the witch is going to have a cool labyrinth of a house for them to fight in.

I may also make a cafe, book store, and some cute other little shops

For my main house I want it to be pretty accurate? Like a bathroom, a kitchen and dining area, and living room, library/study, bedroom etc when I've upgraded it to max. My villager is going to be a seamstress so I'll be making a room dedicated to sewing, fashion etc with an outdoor market where she could sell her wares (as well as stalls for selling fish, fruit, crafts etc). Can't lie, I may be taking the RPG elements a bit far hahaha!
As for other homes I really want to make a fishing hut by the beach! Also maybe a grocery store and public library. I can't imagine they wouldn't put Brewster's cafe in but I'm also impatient so I may make a cafe/bakery/restaurant as well with an outdoor dining area.

How I lay out my house will probably depend a lot on how many rooms we get - do we just get a first floor, or do we get a basement and second story again? In either case, I want a bedroom at least. The rest of the rooms I'll probably figure out as I go, but I think a study/lounge with flowers and bug/fish cages would be cool.

I haven't even begun to think about that, but I'll probably make my main have a "normal" house - kind of what I'd like if money were no object thing. Any alts will provide extra storage and maybe I'll make some fun things with them - shops, schools, etc. It will depend on the theme for my island and how I can fit things in. I don't want to be too crowded.

I think we may not have a basement this time around, considering we have the option of moving our house. Would be rather difficult to move a home if it has a basement.

I want to redesign the rooms I had in my main house in NL. So that'll be a redo of the mushroom set, sloppy, minimalist and gorgeous. Really excited to see what I can make with the new items/ways of decorating (mainly wall decorations)

I never got to finish my other houses, but I had one that was to collect and showcase all food items. The other one was to collect gyroids, but I don't think I'd be interested in working on that one until like, everything else is finished.

THIS... I don't get excited over foods shown in anime, but for some reason NL's pixely foods looked so good... I can't wait to see how pretty they'll look in NH
