How are Kapp'n's Boat Tours Treating You? (Spoilers)

I couldn't find a specific thread on this, but I'm curious! Please know there WILL be spoilers in this thread for the kinds of islands you can encounter on these boat tours.

I've gone on 4 boat tours so far. Two with my Resident Rep and two with my secondary character. I'm not time travelling so I unfortunately can only do two a day. So far, three of the islands I got weren't anything special. The first had some rocks neatly placed but that's about it. To be fair I'm only really in it for the gyroids so everything else is an added bonus! I got Brewster on my third island, mainly because I didn't think to talk to Blathers before going on my first two tours. My fourth island has Bell Trees! They just have 3000 bells per tree, but finding this island on my second character still helps a ton as she's not got a lotta dough on her in general.

They've treated me well! My first island had holly bushes and a gyroid piece, and that's where I found Brewster. But I got one today that had azalea bushes and bamboo everywhere. Better yet, hitting them with an axe yielded Young Spring bamboo, and the bottle on the beach gave me a springtime DIY! It was a nice surprise. : ) The bell tree island sounds awesome as well.

I've had five - two of them have been extraordinarily boring with just holly bushes, two of them contained glowing moss & vines, and one of them had wheat!

Overall, a mixed bag so far. I wasn't planning on TTing to get to new islands, but I haven't seen many of the new items since downloading at all, so I'm feeling a little impatient.

My first Kapp'n's tour was an island full of money trees. Sadly, they only contained 1,000 x3 bags. However, I found Brewster as well.

I've also noticed that every island will contain a DIY in a bottle, and seem weighted to give you DIYs you've not yet learned.

So far nothing interesting, but Ive only done two tours! Ive got one more I'll do today on my side characters account, and I have a little faith I might get one of those wheat islands or new vines

Apparently there are 21 island types. To quote a datamine:

6 normal
4 vegetable
4 oneroom (I have no idea what it is)
1 meteor shower
1 cherry blossom
1 spring bamboo
1 summer shell
1 mushroom
1 maple
1 snowflake

Not sure where the money tree and vine islands belong to... in oneroom or normal.

Aw, the holly bush one is the only one that (so far) I don't like going to! Here's hoping you get an awesome island tomorrow!

interesting how many people have holly bushes on their islands! my bushes on the normal islands are always the tea olive bushes. i haven't seen any others

edit: oh actually, it might be seasonal? i'm currently playing in september so the normal islands seem to just show whatever bush is in season

I had an island where at least three of the rocks gave bells. It might have been four but I was too excited to absorb everything. But for sure at least 3 rocks gave bells.

they... haven’t been treating me all that well so far tbh LOL. i’ve gone on a mysterious tour every day since the update dropped, and they’ve all looked the same, the most interesting thing about them being the gyroid fragment and the occasional bottle that has a cooking recipe in it. however, kapp’n took me to an island that had carrots (which i needed) on it yesterday, so i’m hoping my luck will continue to improve from here on out!

Pretty decent ig, Most of them have been holly bushes or boring ones, but the past 2 days I've gotten islands with crops i didn't plant in my island yet because Leif didn't sell them, which was nice.

I get a lot of vine/moss islands which I like. Seasonal islands are a lot harder, I only got a fall and summer island. The rest is all the produce islands. I'm going to try going on a tour at night and see if I get something fun.

I've had a summer one, a winter one, and an autumn one. It's cool to go to different seasons and I wish NMT islands would do the same, though that would probably negate Kapp'n's existence. Shame you can only go to one a day but makes sense. I really want a spring island and of course the meteor shower one. I have like no star fragments

I kept getting normal boring islands lol but today I finally got the vine and glowing moss island! I really just wanted the vines so I'm happy.

Eh... I got a vine/glowing moss island once, and I got a carrot island once (I don't need carrots! I need potatoes, wheat, and tomatoes!), but otherwise it's been islands with my native fruit. I check the rocks to see if there's star fragments and I haven't gotten that yet either. So far, it's really just giving me 1 DIY bottle and 1 gyroid fragment per day for the most part. Very underwhelmed.

At the time of writing, I've since gotten (on both characters, give or take a few as I'm only mentioning the important/interesting ones):

2 autumn islands (one mushroom, one maple)
1 winter island
1 spring Island
2 moss/vine islands
1 bell tree island
Sugar Cane Island!

The DIYs and Gyroid Fragments I find every day are enough to keep me happy, so the staggering of islands isn't too big of a deal to me.
