How are Kapp'n's Boat Tours Treating You? (Spoilers)

Finally got a Vine and Moss Island today and all the other ones are neutral so ok I think.

Mine has been very well I’ve got two potato islands and a fall and summer and two common islands and also I got a vine island it has been really good for me

Decent odds. I think I got vines/moss three times now, two vegetables (unfortunately, one was sugar cane… the same day Leif had it in stock, so bad timing,) one that was raining with a gyroid + fragment, and one snowing. The rest have been standard, IIRC, but for two weeks that’s pretty good.

I'm TTing a bit right now to try to catch up to "real time," so I've been on a number of tours.

In general, I've been quite lucky. I've gotten all 4 seasonal islands, with autumn showing up three times. I've also gone to the vine/glowing moss island about three times now, and the shooting star island once (that was my absolute favorite island). I've probably gotten the standard island about four times, but even on those I usually get new recipes, so it's not a waste of time.

I've also gotten pumpkin island and tomato island once each, though I already had both crops.

I think I've been fairly lucky! I've gotten a few seasonal islands and the shooting star island (which is so great, I love that they were added aaaa). However, I've been taking a tiny break from them to save Nook Miles. I went daily and also purchased so many of the new items that my reserve has gotten way too low lol.

I've only gotten one vegatable island (Potatoes) I've gotten a meteor shower island and like two islands with vines and moss on them one with Autumn Maple Leaves.

Pretty good, I've gotten a wheat island, a potato island, a carrot island, an island with vines and glowing moss, and an island that had a bunch of star fragments

I think i've experienced one of each island types so far, I TT'd a lot trying to collect all the gyroids (still working on it. . . T_T) I have a lot more fun with these island tours, so sad that I have so little miles now, and so many NMTs saved up! Wish I could convert them back into just miles LOL

I haven’t gotten any of the rare islands sadly. I’ve gotten a few of the basic, vegetable and vine islands but so far I haven’t gotten any of the other islands. I really wanna go to the star fragment island so hopefully I get the opportunity to go there soon. I also read something online I can’t remember the source and I don’t know how true it is but it basically stated that for the rarer islands to be ‘unlocked’ you needed to have played on certain dates otherwise you wouldn’t be able to go to the corresponding island. So if you recently started the game again (like I did when I found out about the new update) you wouldn’t have access to these islands until you played on certain dates. But I again I don’t know how true this article was.

I've gotten a couple normal islands. ((Getting so sick of holly bushes)) I just got my first vegetable island ((carrots))

but

I've also gotten the star fragment island, which was amazing! There were already star fragments on the beach and there was an active meteor shower. Also when you hit the rocks, you get star fragments from different zodiacs! This was by far my favorite island I've visited. I have a handful of pictures from it too, but I still need to transfer them from my switch. I'll share them once I get them over.

And

I've had a bamboo island with young spring bamboo. Not much stood out about this one. I also had the cherry blossom one, which was nice since I like chasing petals around.

That's all I've seen for now. Also, I'm not TTing, so the going is normal, lol. ​

I'm in the exact same situation as you and I read that article too... Since it is datamine info I think it is quite reliable unfortunately.
One of my main motivations for restarting was being able to easily find seasonal DIY and materials through Kappn Islands again without TTing, so I am very much disappointed by this.
Does anyone know if I can trick the game into thinking I have already played these seasons by TTing to August 31 2022 and back, or do I need to set my Switch into 2022 ? (I would be sad to do so though...)

I'm in the exact same situation as you and I read that article too... Since it is datamine info I think it is quite reliable unfortunately.
One of my main motivations for restarting was being able to easily find seasonal DIY and materials through Kappn Islands again without TTing, so I am very much disappointed by this.
Does anyone know if I can trick the game into thinking I have already played these seasons by TTing to August 31 2022 and back, or do I need to set my Switch into 2022 ? (I would be sad to do so though...)

Yeah it is definitely rather frustrating but a small part of me is hoping that it isn’t true and someone will prove me wrong

So far the not normal island I've been to are vine/moss island, an island in spring/cherry blossom time and crop island with sugar cane in it. All only experienced them once so far

I have two islands. One of my island reps is super lucky and has found numerous special islands with glowing moss while the other one hasn't found as many. The lucky rep also has had good luck with Katrina so far. My only complaint is that I really want the suspicious cauldron recipe and I haven't run across it yet.

I found that on my first few trips I got basic islands in the current season with my native fruit. Earlier this week I started clapping along to Kapp’n when he sings and so far he’s taken me to a bell tree island, a night island with a meteor shower and star frags, a tomato island, and a sugar cane island!

I don’t even know if the clapping helps but my luck has improved so much since I started doing that. I’m going to keep it up and see what happens!!

I’ve had mostly boring islands. I got potatoes and sugar cane from a couple islands. And of course the moss and vine islands. I did manage to get taken to the wishing star island today though. Does anyone know what happens when you wish? I had already cleared the stars off the beaches on the island and I wished on some falling stars but no more stars appeared on the beaches. do the stars go on your own island the next day?
