How big do you think the catalog will be?

I'm not counting Pocket camp or HHD, because those aren't mainline games, and PC has an ever expanding catalog anyway.

New Leaf has the largest catalog so far at about 4000 items, iirc. I think the gamecube AC catalog was a little past 1000, or maybe 1300-1400? I don't remember CF or WWs catalog, but I'm gonna assume that WW has the smallest catalog, and CF being a little bigger than WW because you could transfer most of the catalog items from WW into CF.

So how big do you think New Horizon's catalog is gonna be? Personally, I want a huge catalog! I hope the catalog doubles from New Leaf's to like 8000 or 9000! That would take forever to finish but I'd love the challenge!

We were discussing this in the Discord yesterday. It essentially comes down to whether or not the catalog will be mostly static, or if it will receive routine, periodic updates. As we know collaborative items between Pocket Camp and New Horizons are planned, it is hard to say which direction it will go. The collaborative items may be installed in the game at launch, or they may get released as routine DLC, or they may be part of a large DLC download that comes less frequently but also at a much later date. It's hard to say.

Regardless, I think it's a safe bet that everything that wasn't a special / collaborative item (such as Sanrio or 7-11 items) in New Leaf has a high likelihood of being in New Horizons. I wouldn't be surprised if the game launches with a catalog over 3,500 items.

I'd like more food items, as those are my favorite items of all.

It's hard to tell. Most of the catalog is ugly, and I usually only like a few sets of furniture overall. If it was in the same ballpark as New Leaf, I would be happy with that.

I would say it starts off "small", like with around 2000-3000 items available at the beginning and gets bigger over time the more you unlock and content gets added. I think they gonna top New Leaf's catalog here, not sure however how many items will be there overall in total.

I think I'm in the same boat with everyone and I want a huge, expansive, catalog. Collecting items and filling out my catalog was always a favorite activity of mine, giving me a good reason to visit a friend's town daily in order to check out what their shops were selling that day. Ideally, it would start out with everything from New Leaf & the additional HHD items, a fair amount of brand new items, and some of the earlier new items introduced in Pocket Camp. That way, right out of the box, you've got something to collect. Since Pocket Camp is ever expanding in their item releases, I'd love DLC updates every 6 or so months that would include everything released in Pocket Camp since the last update (or since the game's release, if its the first update). I don't ever mind paying for good DLC, and I think at a fair price most people won't either. I stopped playing Pocket Camp after I found out there was no "direct connectivity" between the two games, but I can't help but to want a lot of the items coming out in that game, especially the new fairy light items and the animal ears/tails your character can wear. I don't think it would be hard for them to update the pocket camp items to the New Horizon graphics, and it would also give something for the team to work on showing us that they are interesting in keeping this game updated and current for a long while, which I think also would lessen the demand for a new game in 4-5 years after New Horizon releases.

I would love to see even more furniture. It wasn’t until I played HHD that I realized how much furniture was in the game.

I would also like to be able to customize even more furniture. Not enough stuff was customizable in New Leaf.

I am hoping it is bigger than New Leaf! I do not mind if some things get cut if they are replaced with newer, updated versions. Some of the sets look a bit dated, but I guess that is part of the charm for some.

I'd love if they could input all of the furniture from all the previous games, including pocket camp, into the catalog, but I know that it'd probably be kind of difficult, being that PC's catalog is always getting bigger. Maybe they could release periodic updates or DLC (free or not free, it doesn't matter that much to me) containing new stuff from PC?

I don't play PC, but by the looks of it, the new furniture for that game is just too good not to add to New Horizons. Those alone would probably make the catalogue huge if they keep the classic sets from New Leaf as well. However, I'm guessing that if PC-type furnitures are added to the game they might be the types that will be craftable and not part of the actual furniture catalogue, especially the more "PWP/outdoorsy" looking furniture models. Or maybe they are considered part of the catalogue? I'm not sure. From the New Horizons trailer I can see that you can craft outdoor looking items like a log bench but you can also craft smaller known furniture items like the "coconut juice" item as well. I hope that we wont have to craft a huge chunk of the catalogue in order to obtain certain items because I still want to have a big shop where I have access to most furniture.

Anyways, I hope the catalogue is huge as well. And I hope they also give us endless storage space to collect them :'D

I reaaaaaally hope we'll get ACPC's furniture sets! Some of them are so gorgeous and would fit in so many houses. I especially like all of the biscuit sets, they're all so unique and some of them have quite sophisticated furnitures!

I quite dislike Pocket Camp for what it's turned into, but I'll always admit the furniture in that game is absolutely adorable. To have Pocket Camp furniture in New Horizons would be a dream come true!
