Mines a pretty weird one.

I stumbled upon this meme account (big_chungles) and it had its profile picture as bob from animal crossing, and I thought he was really cute. This account pretty much worshipped Bob, but they named him ?Chungles?, so I couldn?t search up who this adorable purple cat was or where he came from. I showed my friend and we began making memes of ?Chungles?, and we even set up a discord server for our friends called ?Chungles Cult? which we still use to this day.

One day I got curious and decided to search for who Chungles really was, and I found out that he was Bob from Animal Crossing! I was very intrigued and started looking through all of the adorable Animal Crossing villagers and fell in love. I started to create an Animal Crossing discord server with that same friend (which, unfortunately, never made it live :() and I began falling deeper into animal crossing obsession lol! I was really sad since I didn?t have any Animal Crossing games, but I found Pocket Camp and became obsessed!

Fast forward a month, I came home from school and found out that my older sister bought me Animal Crossing: New Leaf! I was screaming in happiness! Now I?ve been playing for a little under a year and I?m completely obsessed!

What are your stories? :)

So, I actually bought a game when I used to live in Japan. It was City Folk when it came out. I loved it and studied about the game and when New Leaf came out, I played that extensively. I still have my JPN copy of City Folk, just sitting on my desk.

When I was about 4-5 years old, my next-door neighbour rented Animal Crossing for GameCube from Jumbo Video and we would take turns walking around the town, talking to villagers, etc. I remember laughing so hard when my character ate an orange whole, peel and all. After being introduced to it, my family eventually got our own copy and I loved playing it, even from a young age. Got back into it when City Folk came out (never had a DS), and I've loved it ever since.

Many years ago, back when the GameCube version was new, my brother got a copy of the game. I had recently moved out of the house but still went to visit once a week to do laundry and see my family and play games with my brother. So, he insisted that I try out Animal Crossing because he knew I would love it. He had a spare memory card so I was able to set up my own town and everything. It was a lot of fun, but I didn't own the system myself so when my brother eventually sold his system, I lost my town.

I didn't play an Animal Crossing game for years after that. I was really attached to my town and my villagers, especially one villager in particular, Grizzly. I didn't think the game would feel the same if I had to start over. Plus, I never really kept up with gaming news, so I didn't even know they had continued to make new games in the series. Then, about 2 years ago, my husband started watching chuggaconroy's Let's Play of New Leaf. Seeing those videos made me feel really nostalgic and I already had a 3DS that I bought to play Pokemon, so I decided to buy New Leaf. I have been obsessed with it ever since.

It was one of the first games we got for the Gamecube, and one of the things that my mom, and I bonded on as she loves the series. I became really fond of it immediately. My dad is the gamer of my parents. At least in a technical standpoint as he was really into the technology at the time. Introducing me to much earlier games despite me being too young to understand them beyond how they were action oriented, and difficult. It was when we got the gamecube along with Animal crossing, as well as my mom really liking it that I was hooked, and have been since. I would think of the 5pm song during the last hour of school day dreaming of how I was going to play it upon getting home. It's one childhood memory that always comes back to me.

I think the story was more funny than odd, since Bob was the reason you finally saw the light. c:

I first got into animal crossing because of the odd trophies in melee that were advertising the game. I didn't knew who resetti was at the time, but I thought he looked pretty scary, he's not the main reason I wanted to buy the game, though. When I finally got it and played it, I was instantly hooked on the game and couldn't put it down. Everything, I thought, was good: the music, the characters, what they had to say, all the events and item collectiong how many things I discovered each day I played it. I think it was one of the only Animal Crossings I didn't feel the need to time travel in. All of these awesome things I've never experienced in any other game are what intrigued me. The closest experience to playing a game like this was the sims, which was fun in its own right, but Animal crossing was in its own level. Ever since then, I became a fan of the series (not a hardcore fan but still a fan) and I got Wild World, New Leaf and hopefully I won't regret getting horizons when it comes out. I tend to put off playing the games though because they're too time consuming.

My friend DeVere is the one who introduced the series to me. When we had our Desert Survival school field trip, she and I had to take a ride everyday to the place because we couldn't stay overnight due to health problems (won't say what) and DeVere was just so happen to be playing Animal Crossing: Wild World as we were driving to there. After watching her play each day we drove to the field trip classes, I finally asked my mom when it was over if I could get the game and she did! I was very happy to have my own game.

After a few years, my mom surprised me with a Wii and Animal Crossing: City Folk and years later, I also got New Leaf. Been playing ever since then and I'm very glad DeVere introduce the series to me. :)

All of my friends at the time were buried deep into the AC series, and I always loved slice-of-life games, so it was a natural thing to buy and get into. I think when NL came out, someone I had a crush on had it and was playing it a lot, so I got back into it. And after taking a hiatus from NL, I had a friend ask to borrow my copy, I said no because I was worried about losing villagers, and that sparked me to come back----only to see those villagers left anyway :c

About three and a half months ago, I was thinking of 3DS games I wanted for my birthday. I remember years ago when City Folk was still the latest game, my cousins are talking about Animal Crossing, and that was the game that came to my mind. I asked one of my friends about New Leaf, he said it was really fun. I decided not to wait for my birthday and buy it myself instead. So I went to Best Buy when my parents were out shopping, and they only had three copies of the game left, I couldn't find many stores that had one. I couldn't find it on the shelves, but an employee found one in the warehouse. I bought the game, and that's how I got into Animal Crossing in general.

When I was seven I received a copy of Animal Crossing for Gamecube with the Gamecube on Christmas morning. My very first town was named Mew and I played for hours, and hours, and hours every day! I was hooked and have been ever since.

I received the GameCube version as a gift.
It was secondhand from a yard sale; but it was basically new and cheap!

I started to get into Animal Crossing when I got my first Nintendo DS back then and was looking for some new games for it. I never played AC before (I played the Game Cube title to a later point), but I found it pretty interesting the more I found out about it and so I got Wild World. It took me a while to understand everything, but after some hours into it, I started to really like the game. Ever since then I became a huge fan of the franchise and played almost every title (with the exception of the Japanese titles and amiibo Festival).

My dad has a habit of picking up random things everywhere he goes, especially if someone is giving it away. One of these things happened to be a copy of Animal Crossing: Wild World. I decided to try it out, and have liked it ever since.

My ex boyfriend was really into the gamecube one.
New Leaf was my first AC series game though, it was more of a subconscious purchase as we had been broken up for 5 years at that point before I realized. Lol
Though, I thought the general design was really cute too.

Back a little bit ago, I was a #epic gamer grill, I was really into Nintendo, mostly Pok?mon, but I kept up with their other games, one of which was animal crossing. On my birthday, I got a 3DS, omega ruby, and some other thing that I don’t even have anymore. After my trip to a museum, I went to toys r’ us and got candy I believe and a copy of New Leaf. I got a few hours from the Pok?mon game and new leaf, but I dropped off from my 3DS in 2018. In winter 2018/19, I got Back into new leaf and sun. I’m not a huge Pok?mon fan anymore or the rest of nintendo’s games, but I’m ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with animal crossing! I have hundreds of hours of new leaf and probably 100 hundred hours in pocket camp (it’s really sad) and I know almost everything about animal crossing. Can’t wait till new horizons!

The way I found out about this game series was that I watched a trailer for acnl on the nintendo 3ds eshop which made me convince my dad to buy this game and I have been playing it for 5 years since September of 2014.

I am considering getting New horizons for my switch and luckily it comes out only 6 days before my 19th birthday which is sweet.

It was with a late purchase of Wild World back in... 2007 I think that started it for some reason, although I have no idea why I bought it lmao. Must been some ad or internet read probably.

I wanted a 3DS for the first time when I seen my friends and started playing hers. Almost as soon as I brought the 3DS, my friends told me to get New Leaf so she would have someone to play with. I didn't know much about the game as I never played an Animal Crossing game before. Now I am hooked and it is one of my favourite games ever.
