I opened presents on Christmas eve with my partner's family after a lovely homecooked dinner. Then I went home and opened presents from my mother. It was a pretty somber time this year because of my grandpa's passing prior to the actual holiday.
A quiet night at home with my family, we still did turkey dinner. Had a video call with my cousins and my sister since she wasn't able to fly home this year.
Spent the holidays at home with just hubs and daughter. Helped bake some cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve and left those out for him along with some milk and carrots for the reindeers. On Christmas day we opened some presents, watched some Christmas movies, and whipped up some decent-ish food. Nice quality time with the family. It wasn’t too bad, definitely less chaotic than usual. We normally would have spent Christmas time split between my mom’s and my in-law’s, but it was just too much of a risk this year. We will most likely be staying at home for the New Years as well.
I was originally going to visit my sister up in Minnesota, but they had strong COVID restrictions up there (14 day quarantine requirement from out of state visitors), so I stayed home with the beloved husband. Just as well, as Minnesota got some of its infamously bad weather. Husband and I had a relaxing time at home, went over our presents...just a nice quiet time.
My christmas was really relaxing. I stayed home with my s/o and we opened presents and facetimed our family members throughout the day. We also made cookies and watched christmas movies :3 it was sad not being able to see all of our families this year, but it was nice to just stay home and take it easy ❄
I actually spent Christmas traveling to Disney ! My family’s had this vacation planned for a while now, and restrictions are incredibly relaxed in our area. Disney was still at 35% max capacity when we went, so it was actually pretty easy to stay socially distanced! (heads up for everyone else: they’re increasing to 50% capacity soon so I wouldn’t recommend following in my footsteps)
Of course, we also wore our masks and used lots of hand sanitizer.
It was a bit anxiety-inducing for me (I’ve been mostly self-quarantining at home as an extra precaution aside from going to work + to appease my OCD) but it was fun! I was able to finally get a My Melody plush and to build my own remote control droid
