How do people type messages so fast when visiting islands?

This may be a stupid question but I'm just curious if there's a tip or trick to typing faster when visiting someone or hosting someone on your island, I am extremely slow at typing messages out through my Nintendo Switch keyboard, some people seem to be able type longer messages very quickly (I mean messages longer than 2 or 3 words)

I know some people use the Nintendo online app to type! It links to your game so you can type on your phone and then it shows up in game. The keyboard in game is also touch screen enabled so I usually do that to type, just by touching my screen instead of scrolling

I use the Nintendo Switch app and it makes EVERYTHING better and quicker!

I just use the NSO app on my phone to type in-game messages while online, since it's the fastest way of communicating via in-game messages.

Thanks! I had no idea you could type it via touchscreen and I have the Nintendo Switch app but I didn't realize you could type messages through it, that makes a lot of sense, I was wondering how the heck people were getting messages out so quick when it would take me a minute to pick out the letters "thx"

Why yes, using your phone is faster, but it also is more repetitive and tiring.

But using your in-game messaging is slower, but easier and not so tiring.

I suppose it really depends on what you prefer, as I like using the in-game messaging system. Doing it on the phone seems too much for me, but my preferred way of messaging people is through touchscreen, but that's not in NH, is it? Nevermind, it is.

I just communicate with the person through the forum or Discord messages because it’s easier to type. I never understood how to do it with the NSO App and this is much less tedious anyway.

They use USB Keyboards that they plug into the USB outlet on their Switch and they sometimes use the Switch Online App on their phone to type faster using the keyboard.

I plug a wireless keyboard into my dock and put the keyboard in front of my computer keyboard.

So like everyone else has said, people probably type fast using the nso app and I believe there's a way to plug a USB keyboard into your dock and you can type with that apparently.
Or some people just use the in game keyboard, but have very fast fingers
