I think it's safe to say that the majority of you guys know that I prefer classic games over newer ones. Sure, Smash Brothers Brawl looks amazing, and so does Mario Galaxy, but I will always prefer Mario 64 and Super Smash Bros. Melee, simply because of the nostalgia and good times involved. The same goes for any other game to be totally honest.

If someone asked me what my favorite feature of the Wii was, what do you think I would reply with? The Wii Controller? No way. The online setup? Not in a million years. The Virtual Console would be my answer, definitely. Even when developers exploit every single possibility with the Wii controller, by that time, the VC will have hundreds of great games... And that means more to me than innovation.

Even now, I have 11 VC games, and I don't think my spending habits will diminish as far as VC games are concerned. There are just so many great games coming out for it, regardless of what people are saying...

What do you guys think?

Like most things as far as old games go I prefer the GOOD ones, I can't say I like old games in general or I might be implying I like umm 'That's So Raven' or other horrible games like it.

We have a tendency to think of the better games movies books of the past. That is why so many people ask 'Why don't they make um like they used too?' when in fact they do but you just don't remember the dud games and movies left on the shelves, because you remember all the good games like Super Mario 64 and try to forget games like Quest 64....

So remember , never say you like all that is old, cause that can imply horrible games.

Although you need to also think of how wide an array older things can draw from while anything new is limited to a year or 2 if lucky.

Actually now that I look at it you did say classic games which does mean the good older games....so... umm i don't want to delete all I just typed so I'm keeping it in the post....

But for the best feature I would have to say the controller, because it allows for something new this gen, but the VC and backwards GC compatibility balances the innovation out with classic games and that is what makes it a well balanced system.

Heh, nice job writing two paragraphs that don't really concern me there, Sporge.

:p

(i.e., I said classic games, not old games. I would never download, err... Super Man 64 :p)

I <3 the Virtual Console as well, even though I've only bought four games.

My favorite of all the ones I have downloaded is Super Mario 64. Even though it's not all good in graphics or anything, it's still sweet. <3

F-Zero
Gunstar Heroes
Ristar
Ice Hockey
The Legend of Zelda
Bomberman '93
Bonk's Adventure
Super Star Soldier
Super Castlevania IV
Kirby's Adventure
Kid Icarus

Those are my games, and they all freakin' rock, let me tell you.

:p I am so happy I haven't downloaded a single mediocre or even "somewhat good" good game. They're all awesome.

But I haven't downloaded the following games because I already own them... Can you imagine how huge my "download games" list would be if I would have downloaded them anyway?

Link To The Past
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Super Mario World

And there are some others I'm forgetting... But I still have 1000 Points left over, so I'm probably getting Donkey Kong Country when it's out next week.

I just wanna get super metroid for right now... nothing else much I wanna download. I have no VC games at all, and won't for awhile.

I'm not downloading any VC title because I mostly own all the game I like.

But once the good games I could never get start appearing, I'm going to start downloading them :gyroidveryhappy:

Right now I have Super Mario World and ALTTP.

I may be getting Kirby's Adventure or Mario Kart 64.

Well...I don't love VC because: 1) online doesnt work for me 2) I have pretty much all (almost) the good classic games, IMO.

1) that isn't a valid option, it's your problem.

:p
2) ah, I once thought so too... but then I realized how stupid I was and how many great games I was missing.

:) The 200 games you have (130 or so of which are classic I'm going to bet.. random number) are definitely NOT Most of the classics... If you want all of the classics, you're look at 2000+ games. However, if we were to confine ourselves to the limitations of the VC systemwise... You'd be looking at another extra 100 or so classic games that you don't have.

Well...I don't feel I need that many games to make my assortment of games that much better (besides upcoming Wii games) yeah SMRPG and maybe a couple others, but not much :). Well...SNES games on VC sucks compared to SNES games on SNES. There's no experience with VC...with SNES you get the whole deal (also don't bring up your snes, that's different, I'm talking about people who have had SNESs) .

I haven't had very much experience witht he virtual console. I currently have Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past..and that's it. But I think I feel a wii point streak coming on.

You barely even know about other games... You only know that you need Chrono Trigger and SMRPG, but those are well-known titles... What about games that are obscure and niche that you never thought you'd like, but actually love? You never know when that might happen... so I suggest giving lots of VC games a spin, you might be pleasantly surprised.

And how is my SNES different? I am still getting the same experience, it's even more pleasureful because I feel way more nostalgia than I thought I would feel...

And you haven't even played an SNES game on the VC. It's basically the same thing, especially since the Classic Controller is practically a copy of the SNES controller with two analog sticks and a Z button.

Um... I'd be the first to admit that I'm not an old school gamer, as my first system was the Gamecube. The Intellivision hardly counts : D

I've only played SM64 rarely, I played Goldeneye at my cousin's house, but the first real console I had access to WAS the Gamecube. So I'm planning on abusing the VC, even though I havent started yet.
