For me, I chose Lakewood pretty quick. It just came to my head one day and I stuck with it.
What about you?

About half an hour, haha. When I was choosing a layout it popped into my head, so I decided to use it because I think it's cute :)

It came pretty quick. I was watching LOTRs at the time/all the time. Wish we would rename it since Mordor no longer fits my town's image but that's okay c:

Not very long, I decided to be lazy and name it based on my likes.
I got the name Termina from my favorite LoZ game Majora's Mask.
I liked it at first, but I kind of wish I chose something more fluid sounding and original now. Eh I can live with it.

It didn't take me very long at all to come up with the town name that I'll use for my next town! :) I just looked it up and decided that "Paris" sounded like a cool town name. :D

A month before AC:NL came out, me and my sister began planning our town names ahead of time. I chose Hollow (short for Godric's Hollow) because I'm a big Harry Potter fan.

I picked out ?lfheimr way before the game came out, so I didn't take me much time at all. lol

I restarted recently a ton. I was going to call my village Graves. It was just funny. Cause they say stuff like "in Graves" hahaha....I was so sick of restarting I named my character Data and my village Dork. Turns out I have some really dorky villagers! Like Vic!

It took me around a hour? I couldn't think of a name until I finally decided what the theme of my town would be. That made thinking of a town name much easier.

It took me a few weeks before the game came out to decide on a name.. from then on I stuck with it, and still love it. Tsuville.

I came up with my town name the day I got the game. But I first made a list of names to use. It was originally going to be Li'l E's Place, then Li'l E's Town, and finally E's Town because the others were too long and they wouldn't fit. Li'l E was my favorite nickname from cf, because my character was named Elise. But I like how E's Town sounds. I think it's better without the Li'l.

I knew what I wanted right away, I am a huge portal fan so it was pretty easy!

Me and my friend started thinking about our town name a week or two before I got my 3ds, but it wasn't until the day I got it that we decided on Vienna. I was indecisive so I let him pick. He's a big fan of Billy Joel and every other town name he liked was too long to fit. (Oyster Bay, Leningrad, Allentown,...)

I thought about it for months. I first started seriously brainstorming when the release date was announced, because then it almost felt like a deadline. :p Even though I mulled about it for months, it did not take me extremely long to actually come up with the name Cit?lune. Basically, I wanted to name my town Citt?gazze, but that wouldn't fit the character limit, so I decided to put a different root word (meaning moon) after cit?. What took me months was just trying to figure if this was truly the town name I wanted, or if there might be a better town name out there. Looking back, it's kind of funny how much I agonized over the town name. xP I mean, it doesn't seem like people really care about others' town names (including me), it mostly just matters how the town actually looks and feels and such.
