How long did it take you to choose your town name?

It really dint take long

My town was going to be called Equestria but charcter limit :U. So I called it Equestia

My names were chosen before the game copies were bought. ^_^

I have very few fandoms, but about those, I am exceptionally passionate. I don't write fanfic; I build ACNL towns. ^_~

My original town name was Olivine (Pokemon obviously haha) It just fit because my name's Jasmine and the Olivine gym leader is called Jasmine. Olivine is also a cutesy, seaside town. It was perfect.

However I wanted a change when I restarted, and I thought about it for a minute before Limerick popped up. I've always wanted to see the town Limerick in Ireland, haha. I don't know why, but I just stuck with that.

5 seconds, but I don't like it anymore xD

~ Kate from Wildtown

I like weird names without any meaning, so Larett will work.

Edit: 2 minutes

I picked Irisvia firstly! I decided to use the name "Irisviel" as inspiration for the idea (after the character from Fate/Zero) since I liked the name (and I liked the character)! I knew I had to cut off one letter, but Irisvie didn't sound as good... And then, I messed around, trying to find other letters that'd fit the ending, and Irisvia sounded best.

But now I've gone to Celestic again, since I restarted. I had Celestic from my Let's Go To The City town. To be honest it isn't really an imaginative nor original name (I was the only Lucy from Irisvia in the whole world when I checked the Dream Suite!), but it is quite pretty, simple and oh yeah, I totally named it after Celestic Town from Pok?mon didn't I? ehehe. So yeah didn't take me too long I guess.

I had decided before I got the game what my town was going to be called because I have spent hours in the past mulling over town names. RoseWood was just a natural progression from RoseVile which was the name of my very first AC town back in the days of Wild World.

When I restart my town I'm thinking of naming it Lunetta :p

It didn't take me long at all as I was quite obsessed with Game of Thrones at the time so I thought Westeros would be a good name. I was thinking about it a lot before I bought the game because my town's name on WW was 'home' because I didn't realise I was naming the town when it asked me where I wanted to go haha

I created a list of town names and names I might want for my mayor when I first heard the game was being made. So about a year before I even got the game.
Most of the names on my list were from Legend of Zelda games. I'm really glad I picked Majora and not Zant xD they're both crazy anyway

7 seconds. i just thought wouldn't it be cool to name my town Hyrule after LoZ, ahruerhruhurhur. i didn't even really think it through either i was just like "ok ill do hyrful" and then i stuck with it.

Not that long really. I knew I wanted a Pokemon related town name, so I decided to go with Johto.

For my first town I took forever and thought of the dog-themed name "Woofkin", but for my second I had already mulled over creating a mini-golf themed town and settled on PuttPutt.

I actually spent a good few weeks deciding on my town name before New Leaf was released, coming up with several names of my own, as well as names from things I enjoyed. Obviously I didn't spend every waking second thinking about it, but still. Eventually I settled on Amestris (from FMA) simply because it sounded great. Of course, I soon realised quite a lot of people were using it and it kind of killed it for me. So once I restarted, I called my town Sorua, which I think sounds just as good, if not better.

I planned ahead before I got thegame but I guess you could say maybe in all about an hour or two if you took all the procrastination?
