Not interested in the ones you have traded, cloned, or hacked in...more curious regarding the creatures you have personally bred or captured.

I just caught a shiny Pelipper this morning near the Battle Tree on Poni Island (Ultra Moon). Earlier in the game, I caught a Sewaddle.

The Ultra-Zone has a pretty high shiny rate, so I came across a few in there (Yanmega, Floatzel, Sewellow, etc).

In Pokemon Crystal, I bred a shiny Cleffa and caught a shiny Poliwag.

Even though they aren't my favorite Pokemon, it is always exciting to come across a shiny!

I caught a shiny Gulpin in Pok?mon Y. It was my first time shiny hunting, and I managed to get it in under an hour. I like Swalot a lot more now because of that.

The second I wasn't even hunting for. In Omega Ruby I had just had a massive online losing streak and was incredibly frustrated. Just as I was about to turn my game off, I went in the tall grass and a horde of Marill attacked me, one of which was shiny. Catching a shiny Marill without even hunting made a really bad experience into one of my absolute favorites.

Then my third shiny was a Sandshrew. I spent so many hours in Route 111 spamming sweet scent to get horde encounters. It was worth it, because eventually I found what I was looking for. Now I have a shiny Sandslash which I think looks really good.

That's really cool! I always thought Sandshrew was a cool Pok?mon as well.

I have never gone out looking for Shiny 'Mons. The odds are just so low I can't imagine trying to play the game that way. Plus, the mystique of them is kind of ruined when you receive a shiny with insane statistics and nature via Wonder Trade. As an old-timer, I like the addition of natures, etc. But the hyper-competitive game really made casual play seem worse. Thank goodness for bottle caps in Sun/Moon making your weaker-IV'ed catches worth playing!

I used to spend my days hunting for shinies, I learned how to use the radar and used it to catch so many Pok?mon in X then I gave it a shot in platinum it was a bit tougher and took a lot longer but I managed to catch a bunch that way, I used hordes to find easy shinies in XY/ORAS, used the masuda method to hatch a couple shinies with high ivs (I hate that method so much it takes forever), the ally method gave me a shiny when I was ev training lol, and I got a shiny starter through soft resetting in Heart Gold wasn?t the starter I wanted but it was shiny and didn?t take me days to find so I was happy with it. I have managed to get about 2 ish pc boxes full of legit shinies (probably a bit more) that I caught myself I have a bunch of multiples (like bellsprout) from horde hunting for other Pok?mon

My first shiny was a Tympole in White, I just came across it randomly, I didn't use any methods to get it (I don't really like Tympole anyways so I ended up trading it to a friend, and I got a shiny Mudkip back).
I didn't get any other shines until I got X, where I got a shiny Seaking from the fishing method.
Gen 6 is also when I really got into the Masuda method, and I got a shiny Mareep, Ralts, Feebas, Audino, and Magnemite out of it. I might've gotten a few others, but those are the main 5 I remember right now.

So, (at least) 7 for me!

I've only caught one shiny Pokemon and that's basically it when it comes to that. The shiny Pokemon that I've caught was a swablu that I've found out of the blue in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. It was a surprise when I first stumbled upon it. I'm not really interested in catching shiny Pokemon though.

The only one I have ever caught in the wild was a shiny Ponyta in Diamond. I honestly knew pretty much nothing about shiny Pokemon back then so I didn't really know why the Ponyta was blue when it popped up, but I ended up looking it up and kept it. I traded it through generations and actually had it up until OR/AS until I reset in AS and lost it aha.

But since then I managed to breed a few which was nice

My first shiny Pok?mon encounter, not counting the Lake of Rage Gyarados found in both the original Gold/Silver/Crystal and their remakes, HeartGold/SoulSilver, was a shiny Gligar on Johto Route 45 in HeartGold, the route right below Blackthron City. I didn't notice the sparkles and tend to play with the volume off, but it looked somehow odd to me so I looked it up online and found out it was actually shiny. I caught it and decided to farm enough Battle Points at the Battle Frontier to buy a Razor Fang and evolved it into Gliscor. I was originally going to give it the nickname Diego because the light blue and yellow coloration of shiny Gliscor made me think of the then San Diego Chargers, now the Los Angeles Chargers, team colors. I'm not much of an American football fan though and instead decided on the nickname Harbinger, both because I had recently played Mass Effect 2 and because I liked encountering a shiny so much that I decided thereafter to hunt for them and that made Gliscor true to the meaning of the word harbinger, which is someone or something that foreshadows a future event. I was originally going to keep him in the Generation IV games he was found in because I like the sprite better than the thick 3D model, but the Gold Bottle Cap swayed me toward sending it up to Alola.

My second random encounter shiny was a Klink in Chargestone Cave in Black and White. I'm not sure that I ever actually gave it a nickname since its Nature isn't all that great.

Past that point, I came to learn about and gained the ability to take advantage of the Masuda Method of shiny hunting and it has been my preferred method ever since. I find soft resetting boring and don't like the wear it gives to your console and I don't like random encounters as much because the Masuda Method allows you to customize the Nature, Abilitiy, and moves of your desired shiny Pok?mon while you're just at the mercy of the random number generator when it comes to random encounters.

As for random encounter shinies past that point of discovery, I remember finding a shiny Gulpin in X or Y, I forget which. I also caught a shiny Poliwhirl that I evolved into Poliwrath and a shiny Whiscash thanks to the fish chaining method in X and Y.

I don't know the count of all my shiny Pok?mon of the top of my head but over the years I figure it is at the very least over two dozen. This is a combination of things I bred or encountered myself, and also some that I acquired from others in trades. One of the favorites of mine that I acquired myself through my only to-date successful soft resetting hunt is shiny Kyurem.

I might have to do a headcount at some point, but we'll see.

I've been playing Pokemon for almost 8 years and not once have I seen/caught a wild shiny Pokemon. I've been patient for a long time but that patience is starting to wear off.

Edit: I've caught 2 in the last week, a Golbat and an Absol. I'm now hunting for a shiny Eevee so I can get a lime green Espeon :lemon:

I've caught two (Alolan Dugtrio, Granbull) and bred five (Mimikyu, Vaporeon, Tepig (eventually to be leveled up into an Emboar), Maractus, and Shinx (eventually to be leveled up into a Luxray) ).

Besides those which are integrated in the game like the Red Gyarados and those I got via trade... Well, I only bred once a shiny Espurr back in Y, other then that, I never caught one coincidentally in all the time where I play Pokemon games. I never had any luck to find a shiny, but I also never haunted for shinys directly. Overall, I don't really care that much for shinys so it doesn't bother me at all.
