How many villagers would you want.. if you could choose the amount?

I'd like fewer villagers, maybe 6 or 8. There's already so much to do in a single day before you add in trying to build relationships with villagers.

I also wish they weren't able to go off to the museum and disappear essentially.

I'd like to have 8 maybe. I couldn't separate my villagers now I have ten, but I'd have been happy if that was the limit and nobody could move in afterwards as soon as I began the game.

10 is perfect for me, because I don't like having the same personality types. Having more than 10 (10 is even pushing it for me) would make villagers less special.

Sometimes, I feel like 10 is too many, and sometimes I feel like 10 is nowhere near enough, so I'm actually undecided on this one - I do like the idea of being able to choose how many you have, within reason though

I would like maybe.. 12 villagers. Like others have said, I think that it would be nice if we could choose the amount of villagers to cater more to everyone's needs.

If we had a bigger map then maybe 11-12 but I think ten is just fine.

I'd prefer 8 for a fairly small map like this, and it'd be perfect for housing one of each personality as well.

In the beginning of the game I thought I could somewhat limit the population by not building the campsite, but it became clear that I'd get a 10th villager anyhow through people's voided villagers through WiFing. So now I have 10 dream neighbors, with 2 repeat smugs and 2 repeat peppies. I see no need for having repeat personalities in town, and would rather have more space in town for things other than villager houses, but oh well...

Population Growing had 15 villagers, and I had absolutely no problem keeping up with them. The personalities were also far more vast as well in that game, so I'd like the game to revert back to that in the way of villagers but with new graphics obviously.

I would love to go back to the 15 we had on the GC! That was awesome, and no trouble to keep up with. I've hated the smaller population of every game since.
