i’m currently on my fourth rewatch of hunter x hunter, and i can definitely say i rewatch shows more than i start new ones LOL. it may sound stupid but i get worried that i’ll stop liking my current favorite shows as much or forget them if i start new ones. that being said i’m also open to starting new shows if they peak my interest. a lot of the time however, i just end up rewatching the same shows i love so much

bonus question: do you ever stall on finishing a show you’re watching/rewatching, because you don’t want it to end yet?

I don't really rewatch shows unless they really stole my attention. The only two shows I've ever rewatched are My Hero Academia and Black Clover, but it's because I loved them so much that I wanted to watch them again, but dubbed. Other than that I don't really revisit shows unless it's something like ATLA (that I could catch at various times, but not necessarily fully watch it again), lol.

Shows are too much of a time commitment. I can definitely love a good show, but I seldom watch them to begin with. I'm a little more open about rewatching movies though.

The most I've done is rewatch highlights and clips on YouTube of scenes that I enjoyed.

I used to rewatch shows fairly often when I was younger but I don’t anymore; plus I don’t have my ps4 hooked up atm so I can’t. I still need to catch up on the anime that I was watching. After that, I’d like to try watching some other anime. 🙂

I did rewatch some of my favorite anime, yes. It's funny this thread popped up, because I was highly considering rewatching the masterpiece that is Eyeshield 21. It doesn't have a complete dubbed version, so I ended up watching it subbed the first time around. I consider it my favorite anime and I'd definitely be open to watching it again. Another anime I recently did a rewatch of was Big Windup! That anime hits close to home for me. I'm more likely to rewatch an anime than start a new one, lmao.

I may rewatch something, due to memory losing all things I remember from the show, so need to rewatch. Or if i am having a bad day, and watching something I enjoyed, and finished, makes me feel better.
It usually depends on how long the series is, if the episodes are too long, I may just try and find a specific episode I wanted to see, or a series I haven't seen since childhood.
Though, I haven't really finished many shows, which I feel bad about, and when I leave it for a bit, I forget, and will have to watch everything from episode 1 again, which I don't mind. I sometimes can get sucked up into a show, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I need to watch Craig of the Creek again, because I never finished it, and would like to see the older episodes again, before watching Jessica's lil adventures. She deserves everything.

Very rarely now. I did a ton growing up and I kinda regret it since I now I feel overplay from them. I watched the SpongeBob movie like 15 times.

I’m tempted to rewatch the Good Place though since it’s my favorite TV show. I loved the humor and characters so much.

i've rewatched The Good Place at least 20 times i'm obsessed!

Thank you @Savont 2.0 for resurrecting this thread! I missed it originally.

To answer the question, I rewatch The Big Bang Theory over and over. I know every episode so well that it is now just comforting background noise for the most part. I still can't miss my favorite episodes or moments though!!

I basically constantly re-watch my comfort shows. I just need the escapism AND the fact that I already know what's going to happen; and since most of my comfort shows are set in the 80s and 90s I get to travel back into my youth, too. Win-win.

The two shows I frequently rewatch are older episodes of both The Simpsons and SpongeBob SquarePants. Certain episodes get rewatched more than others depending on what they’re about. Yes, I have a ton of other animated shows to watch in my free time, but I always return to these for some reason. I suppose familiarity and amount of episodes for both series play a big part in it.

For the most part, I just watch a series once and move on to something different. Although I have a few favorites I've seen up to maybe 4-5 times, but a long time has to pass in between watching it so I forget some details. And occasionally I might rewatch an older season of something around when it gets a new season.

I rewatch shows and movies all the time! I kinda avoid watching new shows because if I don't like it then I feel like I've wasted time. But I do also procrastinate watching the end of a show sometimes for the same reason >-> I have restarted a show or two before finishing it because I don't want it to be over yet.

I rewatch shows and movies all the time as well. I find comfort in rewatching a favorite show. For me it’s almost just as enjoyable as the first time watching it. Maybe even more because I already know what’s gonna happen and that’s comforting. I also re-read books frequently.

Not much anymore. I used to more as a kid, but with streaming nowadays I'm almost always moving onto the next thing that I want to watch.

Normally I'll just rewatch my favorite clips or even clip compilations instead.

I used to rewatch entire Let's Plays on YT and looking back I feel like I was wasting time. I could've at least been doing something like art while listening along.

oh absolutely i rewatch stuff more than i start new stuff too. when i watch something new i have to give it 100% of my attention and if the show or movies not really worth giving my attention to? very frustrating. esp now that many studios and streamers purposefully make dual screen shows where they expect you to be on your phone. no, give me quality writing!!!!! but once i finish a show i like, i'll use it as background noise and throw it on while i'm doing other stuff. it lets me rewatch with a way lower commitment and attention focus and i still get to catch stuff i may have missed on my first watch. i like putting a show on as background noise, i think because i grew up watching the actual television like that. i don't really listen to music as a background activity, i don't even have a music streaming service or even an mp3. if i want to listen to a song, i'll look it up on yt. even when i'm not using a show as background noise, i prefer watching something i know is good over watching something new that has the possibility of being bad.

edit:
oh yes, i've done that. even though picard was a difficult watch the majority of the time and so different from tng, i could not watch the last episode of the series for YEARS because i couldn't let go of my little crew and was afraid it was going to be devastating (it wasn't, it ended on such a happy note and honestly i feel it's open ended enough to maybe a movie or another show in the future).
