How to make a signature??

well I already have the website where everyone (or almost everyone) get their sprites but I wanted to know how and with which program you made your signature with your villagers? someone here did one for me but since then my villagers have changed and I can't "update" it xD
I wanted to make like most here who have one row for their actual villagers and the row underneath for the wanted villagers
could someone explain please?

I used Fireworks & Photoshop, loads of people use GIMP, you can get the sprites from http://welcometoathena.tumblr.com/post/54852487291/animal-crossing-sprites-masterpost

I've stopped doing signatures as updating them was hard work because i'm lazy, it's best to do a signature when your "dream team" has been completed.
