How would you improve Toy Day?

your ideas and everyone else’s are honestly really nice!! while i was fairly content with the event, i do agree that the rewards were pretty minuscule and i would’ve loved for there to be,, more, i guess? maybe some fencing with christmas lights, an illuminated arch (like the one from new leaf) and maybe even some inflatable items (santa, teddy bear, etc)? don’t get me wrong, i did like the rewards that we got + the festive and winter items that already existed i just,, wish they were more exciting, y’know?

also, while not exactly tied to toy day itself, i’m definitely with @satine on the whole christmas lights situation. i’ve been dying for the ability to decorate my house with lights ever since wild world’s bright nights festival and i’m really hoping that it’ll be a possibility one day. :’)

Jingle would come crashing down in a huge fireball and be like, "my sled is broken and I need help giving out gifts!"

I'd be (or we) be all, "that was terrifying you megalomaniac. But I will help because I'm a nice person"

Then we'd get the diy for the sled, the pile of presents. Jingle goes, "I need you to find out what each villager personality wants because btw my list burned." And now we are slaves to Jingle.

So maybe the first chunk of Dec is frozen, festive and playing detective. Instead of diys from balloons, it's like from Jingle or from villagers (like Halloween) while we talk to them for clues.

Each time we find out that villager wants, we report to Jingle who rewards a non diy event item like Christmas meatloaf (idk). Then the 24th is just like Toys Day and we get the stockings for his picture.

And I just came up with this in 30 seconds, lol. Tbh, I think your idea is pretty good.

I would add a full set for Toy Day, just like how all the other holidays previous to it had an entire set.. I'm actually shocked at how very little we got for Toy Day! 2 DIYs (one for a useless wrapping paper, btw), and while the 2 items (sleigh and socks) were really cool, is it really enough? It honestly didn't feel entirely rewarding at all.. I would also like it to be more similar to New Leaf where you spend December figuring out what your villagers wanted and then you give them those presents on Toy Day. It encouraged players to interact with villagers, which honestly, I don't do enough of because I find the dialogue a little too repetitive. I would also make it so we can keep the bag.. Why the heck would they take it from us?? We were able to keep it in New Leaf.. So what gives? The one thing I actually really loved about this Toy Day in New Horizons is having to hang up the stockings and then getting Jingle's photo the next day. That was very sweet and charming.

The Jingle set was my favorite in every animal crossing game, but I got tired of seeing it over and over. I was really hoping we could get recipes from Jingle to make new and improved Jingle furniture. Remember the jingle piano? I really wanted that.

Keep it like it is, as it's minimal yet still festive. The simplicity & ease is user friendly across the board.

That being said, make an optional side quest for those of us that want more; I wouldn't mind if it was exactly like NL.
Maybe make use of letters.
Since we have diys & can magically make things, I totally thought this would be utilized in NH...as in we could've been elves but we didn't get an elf costume & festive wrapping paper isn't something we needed at all lol.
Also, a really good return present from each villager would have been a festive or new diy~

I liked how it was done in NL.

- Dressing up as Santa should be a must
- The villager hints about what gift they want
- Giving them actual gifts that match their themes
- More prizes, like the illuminated fence from ACPC or a toy day lamp
- Special commemorative clothes.

I would love it if Toy Day allowed us to give our villagers fun gifts that would only be displayed or worn by the villagers for a limited time so as not to ruin their houses/wardrobes.
