They are seriously making tarantula hunting hard. Not only are they another bug that takes up a spawn spot, they also spawn in water and cannot be scared off AT ALL. You have to actually catch them to get rid of them. Tarantula hunting was already tedious enough as it is. Now it's even more so! At this point, I don't even have the will to do it anymore, but then I have to make bells to support my spending habit XD. Any pointers? Or am I the only one feeling this way?

I WAS SAYING THIS TO MY FRIEND LAST NIGHT AS WELL DKDFJFJ
he was like what water bugs? just run on them.... but you just can't, you have to catch!

Yeah seriously. I get that the game is supposed to be slow, but even beetle farming was TEDIOUS in New Leaf but the returns were higher. Here, tarantulas aren't even *that* high in price (8000 vs a range of 8000 - 12,000 for the good beetles, and even 15,000 for a shark), and they made it even harder to farm them. Then now this added difficulty.. It just seems too tedious to farm for bells at this point :( But you *really* need bells if you want to fill your catalogue and pay off loans and moving fees and bridges/inclines.. Especially with every item coming in multiple colours rather than just being customisable. Meaning you have to spend so much buying the same things but in different colours. I spend around 70,000 bells just shopping at my Able Sisters... So WHY is it so hard to get bells. Just no fun at all..

The water bug still sell for 2000g a pop and they spawn a lot more regularly and are just there to scoop up. I get you the return on Nook Miles invested is a lot less, but it's not bad... Some islands were really annoying to get tarantulas to spawn on, especially if they spawn on cliffs. These bugs don't even flee when you get close, so life is a lot easier!

But if there were cliffs, you just dig holes there and tarantulas don't spawn up there anymore. And the peacock butterflies that spawn on your island commonly sell for 2500. At that rate, I'd just stay on the island and not spend the Nook Miles just to get a 2000 bell bug :( The draw of the island was to be able to catch the highest selling bug. I don't wanna go there for 2000 bells a bug. I just wish making money was more fun. It shouldn't have to be such a pain to make bells.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. But this grinding for bells by ransacking a random island *every single time* and then running around finding tarantulas is not my idea of fun. It's probably my least favourite aspect of the game. And it's just worse now. Oh well.

i haven’t encountered them yet but they’ve always been a pain lmao

I havent even encountered one yet o: but that does sound annoying.

yeah it's not fun setting all that up, and STILL taking hours to farm them and struggle.

on top of all that, i honestly think tarantulas are underpriced. considering it's nerve wracking to catch them compared to the beetles. lucky for me, i didn't sell them last night i was too tired and rick is on my island for the first time aaaaaaahhh the serve

also can we talk about price hike of the rooms? or is it because they're already large? either way the new loan prices shocked me. good thing we don't have pwp's to fund anymore.

i hate the water bugs but for completely different reason, i hated them as a child so now i'm just like eww every time i see one lmao.

but now that i'm seeing that it's hindering the way of catching tarantulas, i'm even more aggravated. making money is very frustrating in this game and i'm glad i'm not the only one who's complaining about it.

I only dislike them cause they're scary looking lol I have a slight phobia of beetles and flying bugs (irl, so they obviously don't terrify me in game, but jeez are they creepier and more realistic in NH!)

I'll probably get annoyed with them interfering with my tarantula hunting too though. I already have a tough time on my own island finding them to begin with.

Right. Them and the mole crickets made it impossible to find tarantulas. Flick was on my island too. I was so sad.

So far I'm getting a proper tarantula island once every 10 nook trips roughly (have been there three times). So maybe don't try to force them, just work up those nook miles and get to the proper island for it?

This makes me miss going in circles in Tortimer's island to catch beetles. The whole prepping the island to make it spawn tarantulas is way more work.

This was my reaction last night as well, I had to catch and release like 50 water bugs.. plus they often stand in the middle of the pond so you can't reach them!

not to be a killjoy but if you're expecting this to be the same farmable finish-quickly game as new leaf you're in for a bad time. this game has a new pace, probably on purpose, honestly i like it

Don't know if this would be too cheaty, but you could sell your nook mile ticket for 200k-250k igb seeing as if you were to fill your inventory with tarantulas anyways would be 320k. Saves you time to do other things.

But of course i can see how people wouldn't like this since you're not working for your bells.

Bon, I don't care that it's slow. I care that it is tedious and not fun to hunt tarantulas. I never complained about the pace of the game. But I don't like the system of having to grind tarantulas just to be able to afford anything and it's such a painful process. I want there to be a different method of earning bells so I'm not doing the same very boring thing every night that doesn't give very high return for the real life effort that I have to put in. It can still be a slow method but I want to enjoy every second of my play time, instead of dreading that time of night where I have to go farm tarantulas.
