I hate these giant water bugs -_-

I was literally just saying this!!! I hate them so much. Not only are they creepier than the tarantulas (I'm not scared of spiders; I actually like them lmao) but they're downright annoying! I don't like wasting my net's durability on them to get them to go away. Tarantula hunting was definitely a chore by itself, but yeah, now it's even more so.

this game has a new pace, probably on purpose, honestly i like it
Yeah, I almost feel like the addition of giant water bugs was an intentional way of preventing us from doing what we have been with tarantulas, but also with beetles during New Leaf.

I'm pretty disappointed, I was really starting to enjoy the tarantula grind, and the giant water bug has killed any motive for me to do it again. They're in season throughout the summer too, so it's likely going to affect any shot of beetle grinding as well. Tarantula grinding is still a very viable method of bell grinding though. I would just start to put those bells more in the stalk market than previously.

But if there were cliffs, you just dig holes there and tarantulas don't spawn up there anymore. And the pea**** butterflies that spawn on your island commonly sell for 2500. At that rate, I'd just stay on the island and not spend the Nook Miles just to get a 2000 bell bug :( The draw of the island was to be able to catch the highest selling bug. I don't wanna go there for 2000 bells a bug. I just wish making money was more fun. It shouldn't have to be such a pain to make bells.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. But this grinding for bells by ransacking a random island *every single time* and then running around finding tarantulas is not my idea of fun. It's probably my least favourite aspect of the game. And it's just worse now. Oh well.

Hate to break it to you but moneymaking is almost never fun, in ANY game. It's SUPPOSED to be tedious. Just like in real-life 🥴

The easiest way to make lots of money is the stalk market. That way you can make millions in a day and honestly I can't even be bothered to catch the small fries LOL

I think a lot of us were a little disappointed with the new April encounters on mystery island. The water bugs don't sell for a terrible amount...nothing compared to Tarantulas though. Oh well - I've given up on Tarantula farming until someone discovers a better way.

I honestly don't believe that making money in games is supposed to be tedious and never fun. Lol. In Zelda, making rupees is crazy fun. You cut grass sure, but also mini games, gambling sometimes, etc. Or any other game where the money just accumulates as you play the game normally through quests or pick ups. Saying making money should not be fun goes against what games are supposed to be - entertainment. So I respectfully disagree. There should be more variety to how we make money that is actually made to be fun and exciting. At this point, I'll give up on the tarantulas, and just farm the peacock butterflies on my island and then invest in the stalk market.

I totally see where you're coming from, but I think the game already gives us more than enough options to make money. Selling bugs, fish, fossils, shells, turnips, and last but not least DIYs, especially when they're listed as hot items!

The thing is that people get greedy and want an *easy* exploit to make lots of money FAST with supposedly *rare* bugs they catch en masse. But that's not how it's intended to be. They are rare for a reason! Also I'm pretty sure we'll be able to catch the summer beetles soon anyway, just like in NL. So just be patient.

That Peacock thing is hilarious btw, I just lol'd out loud 😂

It's not glamorous, but you can make some decent money just by selling hot items at the shop. Just involves chopping a lot of wood. They tend to sell for around 2k each. I haven't tried farming tarantulas because I'm absolutely terrible at netting them. Also I don't want to resort to cheap tactics like leveling an island just to get them to spawn.

Lowkey activated my fight or flight the first time I saw one LOL. It was like "WHAT IS THIS GIANT BROWN MONSTER FLOATING IN MY POND"

Haha yeah they're kinda gross XD it's kinda cute they come in a pail when you display them though
Okay well-- I might have to give them another chance. The next time I catch one I'm going to display it because that does sound kind of cute lol!
