I have a 5 star rating, but no idea how....

So I was doing my morning chores and ran across a Jacob's Ladder on a cliff. I was shocked as I was no where near the requirements I have seen online.

I have minimal fencing (<75, probably around 50).
I do have most of the nook miles purchased items and they are displayed (about 8-9 items)
I do have some nook miles crafted items displayed (2)
I do have crafted DIY's displayed (again minimal <25)
I do have paths (one section alot, reset of island no)
I do have ramps (5)
I do have bridges (4)

From what I have read online, I am no where close to the requirements. I did check with Isabelle and I do have 5 stars. Did they maybe change the requirements with the last patch updated?

I am happy that I got it, but now unclear of how to I prevent myself from slipping back down.

You have quite a few bridges and ramps, which can bolster the score. You also have a fairly good amount of fences.

Paths don't count AFAIK. How many flowers and trees do you have?

Me too, I got 5 stars without noticing. At the time I had 2 bridges and no ramps, I did have lots of flowers and furniture in the north though, and a mess of trees in the south.

I guess the requirements aren't set in stone and can be give or take depending on what other things you have. I've changed my town up a lot since (less flowers and trees, more ramps) and I still have the same rating.

After getting the Nook's Cranny upgrade, adding bushes, and adding hedges (counts as fencing), town ratings should have increased for us all by some amount.

What does your flower / bush situation look like? I kinda went crazy when bushes came out and planted them everywhere (well over 150) and that made my town rating shoot up rather dramatically putting me very close to 5 stars (I just put out a bunch of random furniture to get me there).

I did not go wild with bushes - I planted 4.

I did plant about 20 hedges.

Tree's I actually have less than when I started (wiped out one area about 6 grids worth about 20).

Flowers I do have alot (not 250 worth, probably around 100)
