hi everyone!! I decided to get a TBT account after seeing people on tumblr using them. However, I still don't understand a few things and need some help !! For instance, does this site have its own version of bells?? Why??
Are all trades on this site made with those bells or in-game bells, too?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and maybe we could be friends on tumblr!! (acbridget.tumblr.com)

Hello,

The site-bells are commonly referred to as TBT or BTB. You will see both of these acronyms. You currently have 8 of these bells. There is a forum dedicated to BTB trading, located here. Some people prefer using this currency as it's safe to transfer and also fast.

Trades are also made with in-game bells (IGB) here, you can find the IGB shop forum here.

For buying villagers and art and other miscellaneous things you will find on the site, often people will tell you what kind of currency they prefer.

For answering your other question, BTB are used on this site to buy "collectibles", such as my cake, or "account upgrades", such as the item that turns my user title red or my username change. You can locate the BTB shop here.
