I miss when the campsite tent turned into an igloo in new leaf in the snowy season

I wish they gave us options for exterior designs of buildings, cuz

I forgot abut it too! I remember finding it really cute in NL. It would make the campsite more interesting than it is now. It would be pretty cute if it changed with the other seasons too. Maybe into a cute yurt for spring?

This was one of the things I was disappointed about. The igloo was such a nice touch and while the little stage for the campsite is adorable, I think it's still such a downgrade in the winter time. The igloo added to the whole winter scene and would have been AMAZING to decorate around. The stage looks cute for the spring/summer, but it really looks bland and plain in the winter when you compare it to the alternative. :( I honestly think it should have variations every season just to make it more interesting. Or be able to customize it so every player can change it at will. For example, how adorable would it be as a little treehouse?

I remember playing the game cube version, and you would play games to get the stew pot and fireplace. I remember how I wanted those items so bad. I would spend so many bells playing games with the camper.

It seems that you could lose a ton of bells playing these games. You didn't want to enter the igloo with a ton of bells. I was shocked when I lost a game and the camper wiped out all my bells. I remember having quite a lot, and I was poor. Lol. Worked real hard for those. At first there was shock at what had happened, then my son and I laughed and laughed. I have so many fond memories of all the animal crossing games.

I could be wrong, but it also seems like the villagers that lived in my town ( that I shared with my kids ) would be the ones in the igloo. They would stay there all day. Next day there would be a different villager in it. I remember Blaire was often in there.

I'm hoping it'll come back, like the snowfamily, because I miss them too. Maybe they're holding it out for the next winter?

I don't remember seeing that, but I also don't like it, so it may be it...

The pot of stew is cool, we could use it in NH.

I replayed the original AC on gamecube and saw this. Man was it so much more different compared to what it is now. It was limited at the time because there was no way to invite villagers into your town. Campsite has changed for the better in New Horizons but its still annoying how everytime you want to invite a villager you still have to play that stupid card mini game so many time just to win to convince a villager to move out but you have to hope and pray they don't pick your favorites.

Haha I remember when villagers used to scam you out of your bells and then insult you whenever you reject their game. Those were the good old days.

I really miss going inside the igloo in New Leaf and checking to see which villager has arrived for a visit. Playing the minigames from the villager was also fun as well. Being able to continuously play games with the camper and earning rewards for it was so thrilling (except the part when you lose bells and suddenly realized that it was time to start saving up bells again lol). The stewpot in the igloo looked good too, I'm hoping that New Horizons will bring an update that brings back the igloo from previous Animal Crossing games.

me too omg :(. i was honestly really disappointed when i found out that that feature didn’t carry over into new horizons. it was such a tiny detail but it was so nice and i regret taking it for granted back then ;v;

also, that 2nd photo though?? 😍 i forgot just how pretty the igloos were.

I honestly forgot NL had the igloos, but I remember them vividly in ACGC. Did NL had the same music as in ACGC? That was my favorite part of winter, just standing near the pot of soup, listening to the calm music. It was really cozy.

With how many call backs to ACGC NH has, I wish they would have brought back the igloo as well. Maybe some day?

I collected all the stew pots and displayed them proudly in my kitchen!! The food items were the best!

OMG! How dare you compare NH to the previous Animal Crossing titles. Don't you know that NH is it's own game? New Leaf this, New Leaf that! Previous game, previous game. Bah! Change is good and you just need to accept it.

/sarcasm

On a serious note, I totally forgot about this (despite recently playing through the GCN game)! Yeah this was pretty awesome! I never really bothered with the campsites in the previous games - but it's still a shame yet another feature got cut...

me too! I think it was such a cute little touch and I mean come on.. the igloos look so pretty, especially at night

I miss the igloo too.
The tent looked better in NL as well.

I don't like the campsite at all, as it's ugly when there's no tent.

I'd prefer to use the space for something useful, and have visitors and amiibo's either at the plaza, or just walking around the island. :)

ahh this is one of those details I miss from NL too. I was really disappointed when I found out they scrapped it from NH.
