I think I need a Hiatus

So, I think I might need to get away from Bell Tree... I feel like I spend too much time on here, I should go out and do stuff in real life... I don't think I've been getting anything out of here anymore and I need to worry about applying for Grad school coming up

I can always come back, set down my ACNL towns and time travel to the correct time when I come back (I did it after the summer when I worked at a camp) plus I just looked at my towns and it just seemed poor and sad...

I've needed a reevaluation of lots of things in my life like friends and family, and rather than being the solace I wanted I instead have been seeing this place as more of a chore

Has anyone else been on hiatus and came back know what I'm feeling?

Well, leaving threads aren't allowed, but I don't think there is a need to intentionally avoid the site. Just only come on when you feel like it and you have free time.

This isn't slamming TBT or anything.

And Toad! Enjoy your hiatus. Take a darn break if you need it! I've only been here an incredibly short amount of time, but I think you're a wonderful member and if you feel you need a break, then take it!

As soon as something you love to do starts to feel like a chore, it's time to reevaluate it for sure.

I def don't wanna slam TBT, but I need to give myself some closure.... I'm on the verge of tears right now doing all this closing stuff, but I know I'm gonna need to leave at some point so I better do it quickly to take the blow away!

Everyone has been supremely kind for sure, but I can't live on these forums forever and especially not in this time in my life

I actually love TBT and the fact that it emotionally attached to me enough to get me so emotional should be a sign of how great it is

I never left TBT and came back (only been here like a week), but I've left Neopets and came back after hiatus many many times for the last ten fifteen years... (woah I'm old). I'm still friends with two people I met on Neopets. We email all the time about life and such.

Coming back is always a little awkward for me, and getting back in with the old forum communities definitely makes it easier. When I'm active on Neopets, I play the Food Club because I'm so into stats, it's kind of like a horse race where you make bets and come back later to see how you did. To this day, there's a pretty large community on the Neopets boards surrounding the FC and if I didn't have them to welcome me back every time, playing wouldn't be the same.

And the way life goes, you may never make it back! So I think it's really nice to have some closure about it, since this place has been such a home for you.

lol I had neopets.... longggggg aggggggoooooo! lol, and yes this place has been super comforting when I went to a low part in my life... and this time I came back has been tremendously better than my first time on the forums, its been fun to come on here and help complete strangers especially when I feel like the real "friends and family" haven't been very good to me

Whether you find it pointless or not, I don't see the harm in it. And I also read over the forum rules posted in the bulletin board... And saw nothing regarding "leaving" or "hiatus" threads. :T

The only person in the real world who knows I've been seeing a therapist is my husband. So I'm pretty alone in dealing with it outside of my e-friends.
