I have had some strange occurrences between last night and today. So last night I decide to just wipe all my data for Animal Crossing New Leaf and start fresh with the villagers I want. So I keep resetting basically to get my first favorite villager Coco. After about 3 hours of resetting I was about to give up and go to bed. It was late around 11pm but decided to do it once more to see if I could get Coco as a starter. Right after I got off the train I saw the 3 villagers who greet you along with Isabelle. The first thing I noticed was her little headband on the back on her head.
Being super excited I was no longer very tired and decided to time travel a bit back to 5pm to get the couple first things done so the next day I would have my house and not a tent and so on. Nothing really strange happened during that time and I got all of Isabelle's quests done and talked with the villagers (mostly Coco). So now it is around 1am and I was pretty tired at this point and decided to save and quit and go to bed.
I fall asleep pretty quickly but soon wake up around 1:33am by a loud sound. I did a quick look around in my apt and didn't find anything that fell or that could have made that sound. So I lay back down and hear what I think was a child laughing. It had a faint echo to the laugh. Since I am in an apt with apts above me and to the sides of me I figured it was a neighbors kid. So I shrug it off and go back to sleep. I wake up again to a very loud sound and look at the clock this time it is 3:33am. Look around and couldn't find what caused the sound once again. This time I didn't hear any children laughing and I was able to fall back to sleep with no other occurrences.
So I sleep in a bit being that it is Sunday and do all the normal things people do when they first wake up. Then I decide it is time to get into my town and get some things done. This is where it gets strange and creepy. My usual routine is to check out the board to see if there are any messages on it for sales and so forth. This is the message that I saw on the board.
- Who is McSalty???
I was thinking to myself maybe I got hacked or something but I double checked and my WiFi on the 3DS was off. So no one could have hacked my game and added that creepy message. So I decide to go check on Coco and find her in her house. When I first enter the door I hear the theme song to the Exorcist movie which after looking it up is called Tubular Bells. That is not the town tune I set up last night. Same tune happens when I talk to her. But when I talked to her she just stood there staring at me and no text came up on the screen. It was like this for like 2 minutes and I couldn't even move my character. It also sounded like the Gyroids were chanting something but I couldn't quite make it out.
So finally I am able to move my dude again. So I leave Coco's house and go to the town hall only to be met with a different flag than the default one. Last night I was able to change the town tune but was just to tired to think of a good design for the flag so I left it as the default tree. This is what I saw.
So I go inside to talk with Isabelle but she is not there. Which I know is strange because unless there is some sort of event she is always there. So I leave and Coco comes running up and pings me. I talk to her and this is the only thing she says.
- Could this have something to do with the initiation of darkness?
Then she pings me again which I have never had a villager ping twice so quickly. This time she asks to go to my house. So I say ok. Then once in the house she corners me and I am unable to move my dude again and she just stands there staring at me. Then I saw the time and all of a sudden a loud crashing sound from within my apt scares the crap out off me. I go check it out and there is nothing out of place.

Which is strange since my clock on my laptop showed 3:45pm. After it was done uploading I heard the little child giggling again and this time it seems like it was right beside my ear. I went outside to see if the neighbors were out there with their children and there was no one outside. I am really not sure what to make of this.
To get that out of my head I decided to play more Animal Crossing. I see Coco around 4:30pm and decide to go up to her and talk to her. Now some of you may say that I had these villagers say the things that they are saying but this is a brand new town with only the first 5 villagers. There is a plot for the next villager but still as of today only the main 5. As I said above I just reset all my data to get Coco as a starter villager. So 24 hours hasn't even gone by yet in the game. So none of the villagers have asked me to change anything. And as you will see in just a little bit I have asked Isabelle to change things like the flag, the town tune, and villager sayings back to the default. But they still say the same things and the flag and tune have not changed.

This "Darkness" has even affected Chrissy.
Now this plague spreading throughout my town gets even weirder. The music that plays when you are outside all of a sudden stopped. Then I could hear something faintly resembling breathing coming from my 3DS speakers. I don't use a headset when I play at home. But it was very hard to hear and my volume was up at max. I live in Arizona and it is getting pretty hot right now so I had the A/C unit on and it is pretty loud. So I turn off the A/C so I could hear what was coming from the 3DS speakers. It was faint but I could make out what sounded like heavy breathing and chanting. I could only make out one word from the chanting and it was "Darkness". What is this Darkness that is coming at midnight?
The music came back and it was started to warm up in my apt so I turned my A/C unit back on. Or tried to. For some reason it wouldn't turn back on. So I went to my breaker box and switched it off for the A/C and then switched it back on. It felt like someone touched me from behind with some unknown hand. So I turn around really fast and there is nothing there. Kind of freaked out I chalk it up to my own imagination. After all at this point I am thinking that my 3DS is somehow infected with some malevolent spirit.
Anytime I go to do something I always close my 3DS. After fixing the A/C I went back to my couch and my 3DS was wide open and I know I closed it. But maybe I forgot this time but I always have it at that 90 degree angle that the New 3DS can do that the old 3DS couldn't. It was fully flat on the couch. And I could swear that it moved about a food from where I always put it when I go to take a break from gaming. So I look at the screen and I am talking to Willow. So I look at the text and this is what she said.

Hang on to your hats because it gets down right freaky at this point. I totally loose control of my dude. He is sprinting (why sprint on grass... WHY....) to the message board. There was a bird on it. My dude stops short of the message board and I am once again able to control him. So I go to read the message and this is what it said.

For whatever that could mean and I really don't think I wan't to find out. So I take a break from the game for about an hour and get some food and surf the web for a little bit. Nothing weird has happened in the apartment to which I am thankful for since the last incident.
Hesitantly I go to play some more. I figure at this point I am not going to let anyone or anything keep me away from playing my favorite game. I played the original Animal Crossing on the Nintendo Game Cube and have loved the series since. So far so good nothing weird happening but since this is a new town I need to pay off my loan to Nook so the best way to do this without having the island yet is to fish in the ocean. So I go to the beach to catch some fish. The way most people do this is the walk up and down the beach until fish spawn rinse and repeat. Well I had done this for about 3 times and my inventory was almost full with fish. On my 4th time down this is what I found on the beach.
-What are these symbols and what is with the eyes?
So I cover them up with the Y button and fill up my inventory with fish to sell at Re-Tail. On my way to Re-Tail in a patch of trees kind of hidden I found yet another symbol. To which I also covered up.
After covering it up I head to Re-Tail only to be met with the lights out and the message that it was temporarily closed forever like I was in a dream version off my town. I couldn't get a screen shot of this because as soon as I saw the message it went away and the lights came back on. I was able to go in and sell off the fish.
I was making my way past Lyman's house to pay off my loan to Nook and out of nowhere Lyman is like right in front of me and he pings me. So I talk to him and it seems that this Darkness is certainly spreading throughout this little town of mine.
Not sure where this is heading but as long as I am still here on this earth I will keep you updated on these strange events.
