The only way to get the final store upgrade and salon is to connect via Wi-Fi and have a friend shop in your store. Obviously, Nintendo shut down the Wi-Fi for Wild World. However...! I was talking to my sister last night and she told me she used to play the game years ago. I was thinking that if I borrow her game and connect my two 3DS' locally, I can bring her character into my town and get the upgrades that way. She told me she'll look for her game and if she finds it, she'll bring it when we see each other in week or so. Do you think this will work? My only other option would be to buy a "cheap" used copy, but I'd hate to spend money on a second game I don't plan to use. And "cheap" on Amazon is $17 at the moment. Yeah.

It probably will.

I got lucky because when I first got the game there was a used save file that had Nookingtons on it so I decided to keep it.

I wouldn't like playing someone else's game, to be honest. I enjoy naming my town and character and building it up myself. I'm looking forward to trying this! I still had dial-up when I first got the game. LOL. Then we had crappy DSL for a few years, so I never tried playing with others. I'd love to be able to change my hairstyle!

Sometimes I do. It depends on how much progress has been made and whatnot. 0 Town ( the used town which I still play ) is possibly over 6 years old.

I wish you good luck. I actually liked the default hairstyle my character had, so I never bothered to get a haircut.

The final upgrade is also great for getting much more furniture and the likes as well as changing your roof colour. Also, who could say no to unlocking these fellas?

It sucks that multiplayer is required to unlock it though. I only got it due to getting someone to pirate Wild World onto their R4 card. :p

Ahhh I want Nookingtons too but since no wifi I can't :(

I might have to buy a 2nd copy just to get nookingtons

I unlocked my Nookington's without anyone registered using a second copy, and visited with that one. The positive with Wild World is that you can do local play, so 10+ years after it came out, you can still visit other people's towns. New Leaf will eventually be like that when Nintendo shuts down the servers for that one, and it'll still allow you to visit locally, that's a major advantage Wild World and New Leaf have over City Folk which is SOL for visiting other people's towns now.

I figured it would work, but I appreciate you confirming it for me. I have a good friend on TBT who offered to send me her copy of Wild World if my sister can't find hers. I can't wait to get Nookington's and Shampoodle!

Congrats.

You will absolutely need Nookingtons if you want to get max points on the point system.
