I'm in no way affiliated with TBT, but I want to guage interest in a Patterns feature for when the new game comes out.
In short, what it would hopefully be a voting system where you upload a screenshot of your pattern as well as the QR Code, and the pattern gets up/down voted. This allows patterns to fluctuate over time, and lets new patterns take their place.

Just an idea I've been having, let me know if you're interested, and then if the interest is there maybe I'll look into it more and bring it up to staff. :>

The original idea spawned from that, but without the editor and better voting. ACC has a lot of great things that are ruined because they're afraid of changing them up :<

I looked at all the AC forums I could find before I joined this one. ACC is very outdated looking and doesn't have any AC Jump Out ANYTHING yet. It's all mixed in with previous games, and very messy. :(
I lurked on TBT for a while and thought everybody seemed very friendly. TBT is a tight-knit community, not a zoo.
I hope the moderators of this site will take feedback and maybe make cool ideas like yours happen.
:)

I'd been on ACC for a few years (See: 2004ish) and nothing's really changed since then. :/
I'd like to help to make TBT a site that rivals ACC and the once-great AXing, as well as help to unite the different fans. This is just an attempt at me trying to help, ontop of the translation work and editing I've been doing :>

I'm sure lots of people here would love some form of a pattern feature but it's not that simple unfortunately.

I love that! But like Justin said, it is not simple. Plus, we can't go barging in and copying ACC's system.

This.
Personally I'd be happy with just a stickied thread with 2 or 3 reserved posts which gets updated every so often.
There could be weekly polls with patterns, and the winning pattern (or top 2 or 3 or w/e) get their QR's posted in the thread.

IMO sounds much easier than adding a whole new feature

I'm not saying taking ACC's idea, as I feel that especially with this game, ACC's will be more useless.
I could make a mock-up of what I'm imagining, as I'm sure it wouldn't take long. The pain honestly would be figuring out how to do two images per post. Also need to know certain details. (If there's a screenshot tool in-game, size of the screenshots and size of QR codes.)

Really, really, really rough mock-up of what I mean.

The problem with one post for these things is page count. In my experience, people are much less likely to check out a post that has a ton of replies. They fear that their comment will be lost. (This is also why when I moderate or have a topic going that gets too long, I make a new thread with a "2" or "3", to continue the thread.)

I would love a "pattern" feature on the bell tree. I'm constantly creating patterns anyway, it would be fun to have tbt exclusive patterns.

ACNL adds QR codes, so I'm sure we can take a photo of the QR pattern card

This would be cool if idk. Like the site gave you the ability to make the pattern in the same way as IG (Like in a flash game or something) and so the pattern can then be shown with original "blueprints" so people can easily mimic them? Idk My way would just include a ton of work which isn't really necessary for a feature which would be nothing more than aesthetic.

We should just have a patterns sub-section under the AC: New Leaf board

I like it.
Of course, they would have to make it look neater, haha. That's why you called it really, really, really rough.

I think it's a nice idea. I'd like some way to share my patterns when I get around to making them when I finally get my hands on New Leaf.

I love this idea! especially with the QR codes and such so that we can share and copy each others patterns and ideas, or even just use them as a template or inspiration. I loved making my own clothes and displaying them in the able sisters in WW..
