Is Harvs Island the most pointless thing in Animal Crossing History?

Is it just me that can’t figure out why it was included?

And to think, this could have been a Proper second Island like the one on New Leaf, or a Proper Camping ground. It just seems utterly pointless?

I LOVE it! I go there all the time to try outfits on my villagers, and plan what clothes to give them. Of course taking photos is also fun too.

Most definitely is. I have amiibos, and even I won't bother doing photoshoots.

YES why is he here and NOT brewster so pointless, i can't

they could have done more with that place. tired of hearing "maybe they'll add more in the future updates" for everything these days lol

I couldn’t figure out how to get my villagers to pose and make expressions long enough for me to get a photo.

I would say so

i dont think its pointless. u may not get a use out of it but that doesnt mean other people wont as well. its kinda like hhd, a game which i liked so if i feel like decorating a house but i dont want to be limited to 5 purchases from my catalog a day i can go there and have fun. its also nice to see ur favorite villagers or npcs all gathered in one place. it makes screenshot taking in that sense easier. like if u wanted a bday pic but ur favorite villagers werent at the party or u just wanted one that looked like it was in ur kitchen u can go ahead and do that easily, and ur not limited to just 3 villagers.

edit: thats not to say that other features would not have been better. it would have been cool if we got the cafe or something else for example, but im not disappointed this harvey's island as a feature and think its a decent addition.

i haven't visited it yet because my friends have and they hated it lol

It's only pointless because they blocked most the island, not sure why we can't just get some resources out of it. But yeah I'm not going to visit it, if there's an achievement or unlock for it I'll never reach it.

Only thing that's good from it is you unlock villager posters at the Nook Stop. Ever wanted a poster of one of your dreamies? Now's your chance!

I visited his island hoping he'd have the same role as he did in New Leaf and it was a fun little extra shop...I was so disappointed. I don't plan to ever return.

I went there once to get a nook mile achievement. Haven’t been back since

I hate it, but that’s mostly because I’m resentful that we aren’t able to visit a proper island with friends like we did in New Leaf. Feels like a bad trade...

Agree. So pointless and could have been something so much better. I went once and couldn't figure it out so I left.

I think the amiibo functionality is useful obviously, and the camera shoot I think is really cool; I spend a lot of time taking pictures in the game... but I do think that Harvey's Island was a last minute addition when the developers were scratching their heads at how amiibo functionality could be included.

I really like it, I just usually get so busy doing other things that I don’t have time to go. If nothing else It gives you a chance to plan out your rooms since you can use and easily customize everything you’ve collected without dragging it out of storage.

Amiibo Festival says hi

I’m not the biggest fan of the island itself but I like the fact you can get the villager posters from there! that’s enough for me to make it not pointless

The only time when I use it is when I get a new villager, I take a pic with them and then I can order their poster.

I personally like it. I like getting posters of my favorites and I also love to dress up my favs in cute outfits!
