I feel like I have bad luck with my new island I started recently. I do not know if bad luck is now a thing in this game or I'm extremely unlucky. Because the following things that have been happening makes me want to reset my island. (I have had my island since end of February)
- I have not seen Mabel yet. It's been almost 3 weeks on my island. I saw her in Nooks Cranny when it was built the first couple days, since then, nothing.
- I have tried breeding many flowers and nothing. I have gotten no hybrids at all. I follow all tutorials and water them everyday.
- Same bugs and fish, I have not seen any rare fish or bugs yet. I fish everyday for a long time, the only rare fish I have caught is an Oarfish. I also use fish bai but I keep pulling up non-rare fish.
- same Diys. In message bottles. Villager crafting. Balloons. I keep getting DIY's I already have.

These things that keep happening on my island makes me want to reset but I need to know if bad luck/bad islands are a thing.

In game luck system like past games? No. Just general luck, sure.

Mabel will visit the island every Saturday and Sunday, and randomly by chance the rest of the week after building Nook's Cranny. Any time travel (backwards or forwards) will reset your visitor schedule, but Mabel has a 100% chance of visiting on the weekend. So something sounds wrong. If you built Nook's Cranny today, TT to next Saturday and she'll be there.

I have had nooks cranny built since February 27. Yesterday was a Saturday in the game and I had Celeste and today (Sunday) I had Redd

That's odd. Redd should not be visiting on Sunday unless it was his first visit. (When he gives you a membership or first art piece). Celeste doesn't take a visitor spot except for maybe wisp. So she can visit along with others.

When I restarted my Island in January, I felt like I seemed more lucky with this current island than my last island. However, I have not been lucky with flower breeding.
All I can say about the fish and bugs is to make sure you are not looking for ones that are out of season.

I do not know if visiting other people will effect the diys you get. I heard it does effect villagers though.
I wouldn't reset unless you are upset with your map. But if you are to reset, sooner is better than later.
