hi! i got mine disabled today and resized the image so that it was 250px but i'm still a bit worried that it might be against the rules. ;;
any help would be much appreciated!

Don't worry, your sig is fine!

I got mine disabled today too. I was so confused when I logged in and was about to post in a forum and saw that message on my sig as soon as I posted (there was no notification or dm whatsoever), because I didn't know there were certain signature size rules... 😓

I'm just upset because it feels like my privacy/consent was completely disregarded, without even telling me through DM about it, rather it immediately got changed without my knowing. What's depressing is that on the message in the sig, just tells you that you'll get an infraction... for having a large sig...? What if you haven't been on for a few days and don't fix that? You'll just log in one day with a random infraction, cause clearly things will be done without notice to you.

Not to mention it was depressing because I just got my AC rep art done and it was completed, so of course I'd be proud of post it, my artist worked hard on it.

Prior to knowing the size rules, as stated, I didn't know there were size rules, I just went with other people's cause theirs look so big as well and literally never thought there were any restrictions whatsoever on it.

This is the link that they sent me that we're all supposed to comply with... *sigh*

Others were a lot taller than mine or even yours, and I've seen them lurking around with no kind of issues. >_>'

the sig height limit has always been a part of the rules... whether you were offline for a few days or not is irrelevant considering you're expected to read and follow them before you get a warning.

if others have larger signatures it's because they haven't been seen or reported yet. this forum is huge.

Of course, you're going to follow them, I'm not saying not to - that's just being rude. I understand that there's rules in height limits, to discern it from people's posts in the thread, that's fine.

I do appreciate that they keep it inside a spoiler box.
I just wanted at least a heads-up through dm or email, not immediately changing it without my knowledge. That part would be very much appreciated. That's all.

the sig limit is at least partially for loading times, so imo it makes sense to change it right away especially if there's several cases across the forum

Warnings given out for signatures are only for multiple offences, eg. if you fail to listen to the first spoiler notice and upload the same signature or other signatures that exceed the height limit. Don't worry too much if you get your signature put in spoilers the first time! It's just a reminder of the rules and not a punishment. Signatures that exceed the height limit stretch out the threads unnecessarily which is why we put them in spoilers. Like you said, it could be days until a user logs in so we opt to put large signatures in spoilers first so that the user change them when they are able to :) As long as you do not continuously break the signature height limit, you should be fine!
